Meaningful Exchange at BSWA Head Office, Khairpur Mirs

It was an honor to host Prof. Dr. Waseem Ahmed Jamalvi, President, Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA) Sindh, along with Mr. Asad Hussain and Mr. Saleem Ahmed Bhurt, BSWA Board Member from Karachi, and Mr. Shafique Ahmed from BSWA Camp Office Hyderabad, at BSWA Head Office, Khairpur Mirs.

Prof. Dr. Waseem Ahmed Jamalvi — Head of the Department of Pediatrics Unit III and Director of the Diploma Program at Dow University of Health Sciences — is a highly esteemed pediatrician and academic leader.

Executive Director BSWA and the team warmly welcomed the delegation and shared updates on our organizational progress, key initiatives, and future plans. The visit concluded with the presentation of traditional cultural gifts, reflecting Sindh’s rich hospitality and respect for our guests.

خیرپور میں دیہی خواتین کی مضبوط پیش قدمی—تعلیم کے حق کے لیے آواز بلند
16 اپریل 2026 کو تعلقہ ٹھری میر واہ اور کنگری کے مختلف دیہاتوں سے تعلق رکھنے والی 20 باہمت خواتین نے ڈسٹرکٹ ایجوکیشن آفیسر خیرپور ایاز حسین مھیسر سے ملاقات کر کے اپنے علاقوں کے اسکولوں کے سنگین مسائل براہِ راست پیش کیے۔

خواتین نے نہ صرف اپنے مسائل بیان کیے بلکہ عملی قدم اٹھاتے ہوئے 10 تحریری درخواستیں بھی جمع کروائیں—جن میں اسکولوں میں بنیادی سہولیات کی کمی، اساتذہ کی غیر حاضری اور تعلیمی معیار کی بہتری جیسے اہم نکات شامل تھے۔
🤝 یہ سرگرمی شرکت گاہ, انصاف دوست سوشل ویلفیر آرگنایزیشن اور بھٹائی سوشل واچ اینڈ ایڈووکیسی( بسوا) کے مشترکہ پروجیکٹ "عورتوں کی آواز کو بڑھانا" کے تحت منعقد ہوئی، جس کا مقصد دیہی خواتین کو منظم کرنا، ان کی قیادت کو مضبوط بنانا اور انہیں فیصلہ سازی کے عمل کا حصہ بنانا ہے۔
👩‍🏫 ڈسٹرکٹ ایجوکیشن آفیسر نے خواتین کو توجہ سے سنا، درخواستوں پر فوری ریمارکس دیے اور مسائل کے حل کے لیے یقین دہانی کروائی—جو ایک مثبت اور امید افزا پیش رفت ہے۔
✨ یہ اقدام اس بات کی واضح مثال ہے کہ جب خواتین کو پلیٹ فارم ملتا ہے تو وہ نہ صرف اپنے حقوق کے لیے کھڑی ہوتی ہیں بلکہ اپنے علاقوں کی ترقی میں بھی اہم کردار ادا کرتی ہیں۔

Meetings with District Election Commissioner Khairpur-

The BSWA team held several meetings with Mr. Naeem Ul Rehman, District Election Commissioner Khairpur, to discuss ongoing activities, with a special focus on women's CNIC registration through Mobile Registration Vehicles (MRVs) under the Pakistan Women Leaders Project.
This initiative, implemented in collaboration with the Aurat Foundation, UNDP, and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), aims to facilitate 12,000 women across five districts of Sindh in obtaining new CNICs.
The project directly advances social inclusion and strengthens democratic participation. The key objective is to increase women's voter registration in District Khairpur by improving access through awareness sessions and MRVs, while also enhancing their political participation via inclusive platforms.
On this occasion, the District Election Commissioner provided publicity material including posters, pamphlets, and banners to support mass-level mobilization and awareness campaign.

International labour day 2026 سخت گرمي، تپندڙ سج… ۽ ان هيٺ محنت ڪندڙ اهي مزدور، جن جي پگهر سان اسان جون عمارتون ۽ شهر آباد ٿين ٿا.

مزدورن جي عالمي ڏهاڙي تي ڀٽائي سوشل واچ اينڊ ايڊوڪيسي (BSWA) جي ٽيم شهر جي مختلف علائقن، سرن جي بٺن ۽ تعميراتي سائيٽن جو دورو ڪري انهن محنتي پورهيتن سان يڪجهتي جو اظهار ڪيو، جيڪي هر ڏينهن زندگيءَ جي جنگ وڙهي رهيا آهن.

A productive day at UC Lyari, Taluka Kot Diji, District Khairpur Mirs, Sindh

BSWA conducted an awareness session on CNIC registration and civic rights, with a live mock poll activity led by Chief Guest, Mr. Naeem-Ur-Rehman Jalbani, District Election Commissioner, Khairpur.
Seeing the process firsthand helps demystify voting for the community. The rural women were asked to go through different aspects of the mock poll so that they could cast their votes on the election day without any difficulty. The participants actively participated in the entire exercise and expressed gratitude for arranging such practical things for them.

While Khadim Hussain Mirani, ED-BSWA, also shared insights on the Pakistan Women Leaders Project, funded by the European Union with support from UNDP and Aurat Foundation.

Several 45 community members joined, including 40 women and 5 men. Empowering citizens starts with awareness.

International Women's Day with a seminar on CNIC Registration and Voter Education-
BSWA, UNDP, Aurat Foundation, ECP, Pakistan Women Leaders, and EU, organized a seminar on CNIC Registration and Voter Education at Women Development Centre, Sadar ji Bhatyoon, Tahsil Kingri District Khairpur.
District Election Commissioner Naeem ul Rehman, FES Pakistan's Abdullah Dayo, BSWA's Fozia Hanif, and ED Khadim Hussain Mirani emphasized the power of CNIC and voting rights in a democratic state.
The seminar’s aims and objectives were centered on empowering women through identity and political participation. It sought to mark International Women’s Day by promoting awareness of women’s fundamental rights, particularly the right to CNIC registration, voting, and education. The initiative aimed to increase voter registration among women by facilitating access through awareness sessions and Mobile Registration Vehicles, while also strengthening their role in politics by providing inclusive platforms for participation.
The seminar further emphasized empowering women councilors to address community issues, ensuring accessibility for persons with disabilities, and mobilizing broad community engagement. Ultimately, under the Pakistan Women Leaders Project, the program is designed to facilitate 12,000 women in obtaining new CNICs across five districts of Sindh, thereby advancing social inclusion and democratic participation.

BSWA and FES Pakistan hosted a consultation meeting with Government Authorities on Registering Women Home-Based Workers under the Sindh Women Home-based Workers Act-2018" on March 12, 2026 at BSWA head office Khairpur.

Speakers included Abdullah Dayo (FES Pakistan), Naeem ul Rehman (District Election Commissioner Khairpur) and Zulfiqar Ali Shaikh, Dy. Director Social Welfare Department Khairpur).

Govt officials, CSOs, lawyers, and media personnels joined to discuss implementation of laws and support for home-based women workers.
