SPE MUET SZAB Student Chapter SPE Mehran University College of Engineering and Technology Khairpur Mir's Student chapter founded on 25th March, 2012. Worthy Principal Prof.

Currently, the Chapter is leading by Dr. Bilal Shams Memon as a Faculty Advisor. On 26th March 2012, the SPE board of directors officially approved the Fifth SPE student chapter in Pakistan at the Mehran University of College of Engineering & Technology, Khairpur Mirs. Himself being an active SPE member since a few years, he sees it as part of his responsibilities at his faculty to introduce his students to opportunities outside of his home country to engage them with a society of engineers that spreads beyond borders and cultures. The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Student Chapter, in collaboration with the Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, MUET SZAB Campus Khairpur Mirs, also successfully organized a Mock Interview Session for the K21 PG Batch on 14th October 2025.

The interview was supervised by Engr. Sadam Hussain (HSE Incharge, Taj Gasoline Pakistan), who shared his valuable insights on professional ethics, interview preparation, and industry expectations.

The interview concluded by presenting the certificate for best performer which was presented to Mr. Zulqurnain Hyder.

SPE MUET SZAB SC is very grateful to engineer Sadam Hussain for sharing his valuable time with the students. We also pay our sincere thanks to Engr. Sunder Sham , Department Industrial liaison coordinator and Dr. Ghulam Abbas ,SPE faculty advisor for being part of the interviewing committee.

The SPE MUET SZAB Student Chapter in collaboration with Department of Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering, MUET SZAB Campus Khairpur Mirs, successfully organized a Technical Session on “Importance of Health and Safety at Workplace” on 14th October at the Petroleum Software lab

The session began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by welcoming remarks from the organizers. The guest speaker, Engr. Sadam Hussain (HSE Incharge, Taj Gasoline Pakistan), delivered an insightful and interactive talk emphasizing the critical role of health and safety in professional environments.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks and the presentation of an appreciation shield to Engr. Sadam Hussain in recognition of his valuable contribution.

The event reinforced the message that “Safety is not just a slogan, it’s a way of life.”
