Share as much as possible. The plight of working class Abid and Badmaashi of Sindh Police. Abid, a resident of Shah Faisal Colony is an employee with PIA working in Finance Dept. (Pic 1 is a letter of appreciation given to him by PIA). On 5th July Abid was asked to encash a cheque of Rs. 525,000 by his GM Javed Jamil Sheikh. On his way back from bank Abid became another victim of rampant mugging.
Abid even lodged a complaint with area Police Station Shahrah-e-Faisal after the incident. After failing to arrest the actual accused the SHO and others police officials on directions of Abid's GM called Abid to Police Station on 18th July and has since detained him illegally subjecting him to torture and demanding that his family comes with the money if they want his release. Today on 20th July the family filed a Habeus Corpus before DJ Karachi East and a Magistrate raided the Police Station but the Police removed Abid beforehand to avoid getting caught. Abid's bike, however, was found by the Magistrate right outside the Police Station. (Picture 4 shows the bike parked outside Police Station)
Now after escaping getting caught by the magistrate, Abid has been brought back to Shahrah e Faisal Police Station and family is again getting calls for money otherwise they will frame Abid in a new FIR to ruin his life and career.
This is an appeal to the IG Sindh Police to launch an inquiry into the matter and ensure Abid's immediate release without any further physical and/or mental harm otherwise the family will take issue to superior courts as well as national media.
