The Pakistan Chaper of International GeoSynthetics Society (IGS) was founded in 2011. IGS International was founded in 1983 in Paris, France Presently IGS is registered as non-profit organization in USA IGS has 43 chapters, over 4,000 individual members, 161 corporate members and 400 student members. IGS is a learned society dedicated to the scientific and engineering development of GeoSynthetics.
IGS brings together individual and corporate members from all parts of the world, who are involved in the design, manufacture, sale, use or testing of geotextiles, geomembranes, related products and associated technologies, or who teach or conduct research about such products. The Objectives of the IGS are: 1) Collect and disseminate geosynthetics knowledge (e.g. through seminars, conferences etc 2) Promote advancement of the state of the art geosynthetics products and of their applications 3) Improve communication and understanding regarding such products. IGS-Pk in association with the NED UET, TIP & British Council has conducted several conferences and lectures on geosynthetics and current practice in Pakistan. IGS Membership Benefits
