The Garage School

The Garage School It was in the year 2007, that TGS rented a three storied, 200 sq. yard building as their second campus in Neelum Colony.

A non-profit organization that is committed to uplifting the residents of Neelam and Shah Rasool colony through the provision of quality education and health care. The Garage School is a non-profit initiative by Safi Benevolent Trust, which was taken up by Shabina Mustafa in 1999 with a strength of 14 students and an objective to 'uplift the community through provision of quality education, health

care and lifestyle'. TGS is a registered entity under Safi Benevolent Trust and is tax exempted, vide order no: CIT/COS.V/2006/464, dated July 14th, 2006.We are the only one of a kind school that caters to all age groups and target not just one area of education, but all aspects of it including but not limited to street children education program, adult literacy program, formal schooling in English and Urdu, teachers training and support, and vocational training program. We believe that the right to quality education is a basic right for every child and we strive to provide them with it. We are proud to have our capable students now enrolled in prestigious schools like SZABIST, NUST and Army Public College.Our school's operations are completely being funded by individual sponsorships that provide for teacher's salaries, building rental, books, uniforms, shoes and other related running costs. We are a family-oriented school and we do not just provide for the education but we manage our students’ complete lifestyle. We also encourage inter-faith approach and celebrate Christmas with just as much enthusiasm as Eid. We take care of our children's healthcare and provide them with daily multivitamins and also provide milk, water, fruits, chicken and other healthy items needed for their growth and well-being. If there a need be, we provide even for their surgeries and major healthcare expenses. The current total strength of the school is 471 students combined in all the programs with a total faculty and staff of 51 members.

Empowering Young Minds Through Grace, Confidence, and Purpose

Digital Empowerment Hub (DEH) A Project of Safi Benevolent Trust was privileged to host an inspiring Grooming Workshop for the students of the DEH on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., facilitated by the remarkable Ms. Yasmeen Riaz.

A pioneer of the Finishing School concept in Pakistan, Ms. Yasmeen Riaz has dedicated years to empowering individuals through personality development, etiquette, communication, and confidence-building. She has conducted impactful sessions at Pakistan Air Force Finishing Schools across the country.

The workshop was highly interactive and engaging, encouraging DEH students to enhance their communication skills, develop self-confidence, understand professional etiquette. Her practical insights and inspiring approach left participants motivated to become the best versions of themselves.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Yasmeen Riaz for her continued support, dedication, and invaluable contribution to youth development.

On 27 July, 2026, Ms. Nina Siddiqui conducted an engaging session titled "The Symbol Within: Mera Nishaan, Meri Kahani" for the students of The Garage School - A Project of Safi Benevolent Trust.

The interactive session encouraged students to discover their personal strengths, values, and unique qualities through storytelling, creativity, and art. By creating meaningful symbols, students reflected on qualities such as kindness, courage, resilience, and perseverance, helping build their confidence and self-awareness.

On Saturday, 25 July 2026, The Garage School - A Project of Safi Benevolent Trust had the privilege of hosting two interactive learning sessions for the Morning and the Afternoon Shifts on the topic "Introduction to Microfinance and Basic Financial Concepts."

The sessions were conducted by Haris Lari, an A2 student at Karachi Grammar School and the founder of two small businesses. Through his entrepreneurial journey, Haris has gained valuable practical experience in managing finances, maintaining accounts, budgeting, and effectively utilizing resources.

The sessions introduced students to the fundamentals of financial literacy, including the importance of saving, responsible spending, and an introduction to microfinance. Our students participated enthusiastically. We sincerely appreciate Haris Lari for dedicating his time and sharing his knowledge.

At The Garage School - A Project of Safi Benevolent Trust, we believe that investing in our teachers is one of the most meaningful ways to enrich the learning experience of our students.

From 16 July to 23 July 2026, our teachers participated in a series of engaging professional development sessions facilitated by Ms. Shazia Zuberi. The training focused on two essential areas of effective teaching:

* Conversations in English & Classroom Speaking Skills
* Assertive Communication while Preserving the Dignity and Respect of both Students and Teachers

The sessions were highly interactive, encouraging teachers to collaborate in groups, engage in practical activities, and present their key learnings. Through meaningful discussions, and peer learning, participants explored effective classroom communication strategies that foster confidence, mutual respect, and positive teacher-student relationships.

“Investing in Our Teachers, Strengthening Our Future”

On Tuesday, 14 July 2026, The Garage School - A Project of Safi Benevolent Trust organized an inspiring professional development session for its teachers titled "Teacher’s Wellbeing Session." The session was facilitated by Ms. Nina Siddiqui, an Applied Psychologist, Humanistic Counsellor, Resiliency Coach and CEO & Founder Khird Wellness Trainings.

The workshop provided our teachers with a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their inner strengths through creative expression. Using guided activities and symbolic art, participants explored ways to build self-belief, manage stress, and enhance emotional resilience in a safe and supportive environment.

Teaching is one of the most demanding and rewarding professions, and the wellbeing of our educators remains a top priority.

Graduation Ceremony - Basic Computer Course | STC - Digital Empowerment Hub (DEH)

On Saturday, 4 July 2026, STC - DEH proudly celebrated the graduation of the first batch of its Basic Computer Course.

A total of 33 students, including 16 from Garage School, successfully completed the three-month program, gaining practical skills in AI Designing, Vibe Coding, and Prompt Engineering.

We are proud that several graduates have also been enrolled in advanced training programs at Memon Industrial & Technical Institute and DigiSkills to continue their learning journey.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Sohail Ur Rehman, Mr. Arif ul Islam, Ms. Sajida Bandukwala, and Ms. Ayesha Siddiqua for joining us and making the event even more memorable.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful volunteers Hania, Ashba, and Ayla for conducting a fun and creative activity session with the students of The Garage School - A Project of Safi Benevolent Trust at our Digital Empowerment Hub (DEH) on Monday, 22 June 2026.

The session was filled with creativity, laughter, and joyful learning, giving our children an opportunity to express themselves, build confidence, and enjoy learning in an interactive environment.

The Summer Creative Writing Session for the students of The Garage School - A Project of Safi Benevolent Trust commenced on 15 June, 2026 and will continue until 25 June, 2026.

The Garage School students will explore the art of storytelling through a blend of theory and hands-on practice. The program introduces young writers to the elements of effective description, the distinction between creative and informative writing, and the power of storytelling as a means of self-expression.

Designed to inspire imagination and confidence, the session encourages students not only to share their own experiences but also to create original stories of their own.

The course is led by Alisa Sikander, a writer and high school student at The Brearley School in New York City. Passionate about nurturing creativity in young minds, Alisa is dedicated to helping children discover their unique voices and develop strong writing skills that will serve them for years to come.

On Monday 18 May 2026, students of The Garage School - A Project of Safi Benevolent Trust enjoyed a wonderful experience attending the play Treasure Hunt. The performance was full of excitement, laughter, adventure, and creativity, keeping our students engaged and entertained throughout.

The joy and enthusiasm on the children’s faces truly made the day extra special as they laughed, cheered, and enjoyed every moment of the play. Experiences like these create beautiful memories and encourage imagination and learning beyond the classroom.
