Diabetes education is essential and should be firmly embedded in everyday clinical practice for all healthcare professionals. Effective diabetes care requires the active involvement of a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, dietitians, educators, and religious scholars, working collaboratively to address both the medical and spiritual needs of patients. Such integrated efforts are particularly important for Muslim patients with diabetes who wish to fast, as they need accurate medical guidance, culturally sensitive counselling, and faith-based reassurance to make safe and informed decisions. By strengthening education, collaboration, and community engagement, healthcare professionals can empower patients to manage their condition more effectively, reduce risks during fasting, and ultimately improve health outcomes and quality of life for millions of people living with diabetes.
