BUILDING HEALTHY AGEING COMMUNITIES FOR A STRONGER PAKISTAN 🇵🇰
For the past 15 years, VCare Social Welfare Society – A Centre for Ageing and Wellbeing has been working with one strong belief:
The way we age tomorrow depends on the communities we build today.
Our mission is to promote and implement evidence-based models of Healthy and Active Ageing in Pakistan, creating communities where every person can grow older with HEALTH, RESPECT, DIGNITY, INDEPENDENCE and PURPOSE.
To achieve this vision, VCare continues to build meaningful partnerships with like-minded organizations, academic institutions, communities and the Government of Sindh, because sustainable social change can only be achieved when we work together.
In continuation of this mission, under the MOU between VCare Social Welfare Society and Rotary Club of Karachi Silver Sands, the Rotary Seniors Legacy Program was formally launched on 12 August 2026 at our academic partner, ZUFONAM, Ziauddin University, alongside VCare’s ongoing work in the Kausar Niazi Community, where we are implementing a research-based Healthy Ageing Community Model.
The Seniors Legacy Program is built around a powerful belief:
Ageing does not mean the end of contribution it can be the beginning of a new legacy.
Our senior Rotarians carry decades of experience, knowledge, skills, networks and wisdom. Through this program, we aim to create opportunities for them to use these strengths to serve communities, mentor younger generations and leave a meaningful legacy for generations to come.
We were deeply honoured to have honarable mr. Nehal Hashmi, Governor of Sindh, grace this important occasion as our Chief Guest. His presence, encouragement and message to come forward and work towards a stronger Pakistan for future generations gave further strength to our mission.
When leaders understand social challenges and stand beside organizations and communities working to address them, they do more than support a cause—they become part of the change.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Fahad Sikander, District Governor Elect, Dr. Shariq jamal (MPA), Mr. Aslam Sheikh, Member Sindh Senior Citizens Council, Ms. Sarwat Shah, Charter President, Rotary Club of Karachi Silver Sands, Mr. Altaf Khooso, President, Ms. Aneela Ansari, Dr. Pamela Marshall, Ms. Shahnaz, Ms. Haniza Kazmi, Dr. Awan, Mr. Intikhab, Ms. Nayyara and Ms. Iffat for their valuable presence, encouragement and support.
Our deepest thanks also go to our students, volunteers, community seniors, VCare seniors, partners and all our distinguished guests for their enthusiastic participation.
What made this event truly beautiful was seeing different generations and different parts of the community come together under one roof for one shared mission:
HEALTHY AGEING COMMUNITIES IN PAKISTAN.
Young people stood alongside older persons. Students and volunteers connected with community seniors. Academic institutions, civil society, Rotary leaders and community representatives came together not simply to attend an event, but to become part of a shared vision for Pakistan.
I am especially grateful to Dr. Fahad Shafiq for understanding VCare’s vision and extending his wholehearted support to our mission.
On behalf of VCare, I am honoured to invite Dr.Fahad shafiq to become a Healthy Ageing Ambassador and join us in taking this movement forward across Pakistan.
Pakistan needs leaders and changemakers like .fahad shafiq who understand emerging social challenges, believe in collaboration and are prepared to use their influence, knowledge and resources to create sustainable solutions.
Healthy Ageing is not only about older people. It is about all of us because every one of us is ageing, every day.
🇵🇰 On this Independence Day, let us not only celebrate the Pakistan we inherited let us take responsibility for the Pakistan we will leave for future generations.
Let us build communities where no one is left behind because of age, and where every person has the opportunity to live their later years with health, dignity, independence, happiness and purpose.
One Community. One Mission. One Vision.
HEALTHY AGEING COMMUNITIES FOR A HEALTHIER, STRONGER PAKISTAN. 🇵🇰
