Listening, Learning, and Partnering for Immunization Equity

Dr. Humera Mansoor, COO of the Association for Mothers and Newborns (AMAN), participated in the "Listening, Learning, and Partnering" dialogue held at Serena Hotel, Peshawar, with Dr. Sania Nishtar, CEO of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance on July 9, 2026.

The event was organized by Oxford Policy Management (OPM), MannionDaniels, and Gavi as part of consultations to inform the Gavi 6.0 strategy and strengthen partnerships for equitable immunization across Pakistan.

During the session, AMAN's experience shared in leading the HPV Vaccine Demand Generation Initiative across eight districts of Sindh during Phase I. She highlighted the project's key achievements, implementation challenges, lessons learned, and evidence-based recommendations to support the successful expansion of the HPV vaccine programme, including the forthcoming rollout in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The discussion emphasized the importance of community engagement, strong collaboration with provincial health authorities, and context-specific strategies to address misinformation, improve vaccine confidence, and ensure equitable access to lifesaving vaccines for every eligible child and adolescent.

Dr. Humera Mansoor also had the opportunity to brief Dr. Musa Khan on the progress of HPV vaccine demand generation in Sindh and acknowledged the invaluable support of the Government of Sindh and EPI Sindh, whose partnership has been instrumental in the successful implementation of the initiative.

AMAN sincerely appreciates the visionary leadership of Dr. Sania Nishtar and the continued collaboration with Gavi, EPI Sindh, Oxford Policy Management , and in creating platforms for meaningful dialogue and shared learning. We are especially grateful to Ms Huma Khawar and Dr. Tabinda for their continuous guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout the implementation of the HPV vaccine demand generation initiative.

Hyderabad is stepping up for a healthier tomorrow! The HPV vaccine drive is gaining strong momentum across the city.

A big shoutout to DHO Hyderabad for leading the charge, and to AMAN Coordinator Kaneez Rubab for her tireless work along with LHWs and Vaccinators in mobilizing communities and building trust on the ground and for making HPV vaccine access easier and louder than ever.

The HPV vaccine helps prevent cervical cancer, and uptake in Hyderabad is rising fast, thanks to strong leadership and teamwork.

District West, Karachi | HPV Vaccine Awareness Session

AMAN with support of District west office conducted an awareness session on the HPV vaccine at the DHO Office, District West, for vaccinators and supervisors from UC Mominabad, Haryana, and Qasba Colony.

The session focused on strengthening vaccinators' knowledge of HPV vaccination, addressing field-level challenges, improving coverage, and reinforcing the importance of maintaining Khandan Registers for effective beneficiary tracking.

Dr. Humera Mansoor highlighted the critical role of the HPV vaccine in preventing cervical cancer and engaged participants in discussions on common misconceptions and operational challenges.

Dr. Shazia Baloch and Dr. Uzair Farooqui reviewed vaccination performance and emphasized strategies to improve coverage in low-performing areas.

A follow-up review session has been planned by the DHMT to support continued progress and strengthen HPV vaccine implementation.

Together, we are working towards protecting girls from cervical cancer and building healthier communities through immunization.

Every mother deserves a safe pregnancy, no matter where she lives.

This World Refugee Day, we stand with mothers and newborns affected by displacement, conflict, and uncertainty. Behind every statistic is a family navigating pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood without the stability and care every person deserves.

Displacement doesn’t discriminate, and becoming a refugee is not a choice. Yet mothers and babies often face interrupted healthcare, higher risks during pregnancy, and preventable newborn complications.

Through awareness, advocacy, and action, we can help ensure that every pregnancy is supported and every newborn has a safer start to life.

*Protecting Daughters, Empowering Communities*

*13 June 2026 | Village Gul Muhammad Brohi, UC Bahram, Kamber*

AMAN with the support of District Health team visited Village Gul Muhammad Brohi today for a follow-up session on HPV vaccination with parents of girls.

We reinforced key info from our last session and addressed mothers’ questions about the HPV vaccine - its importance and long-term benefits for preventing cervical cancer.

*The impact:* Through continued engagement, *21 girls* received their HPV vaccine during this visit.

Mothers expressed their trust and thanked AMAN for providing consistent support and accurate information.

Every vaccinated girl is a step toward a healthier future. AMAN Kamber remains committed to this mission, together with dedicated vaccinators like *Muhammad Farooq Magsi*.
