A productive meeting was organized by Ms. Huma Khawer from Oxford Policy Management with EPI leadership and Gavi funded, Sindh-based CSOs working on immunization initiatives.

The meeting was chaired by Project Director EPI Dr Raj Kumar and co-chaired by Additional PD Dr Sohail Raza Shaikh and Deputy Director Dr Arslan Meemon, along with the core EPI team.

CSOs present included, AMAN, VPT and HELP. A healthy and productive discussion was held where CSOs shared their ongoing areas of work, experiences, and community engagement efforts.

The EPI leadership provided valuable guidance on demand generation, social mobilization strategies, and reporting mechanisms to further strengthen immunization activities across Sindh. The meeting concluded on a very positive note, with a commitment to continue collaborative efforts.

A review meeting will be conducted next month where further progress and detailed updates will be shared.

Union Councils Gambat and Agra are thriving in protecting their daughters from Cervical Cancer!

Families are stepping forward to safeguard the health and future of their 9-year-old girls through the HPV vaccine, now included in the routine EPI immunization schedule and available free of cost at all EPI centers.

With continuous community engagement, AMAN Coordinator Mr. Allah Dino is actively working within the communities to spread awareness, address myths and misconceptions, and encourage parents to choose protection through vaccination.

Together, we can build healthier futures for our girls and protect them from Cervical Cancer.

A wonderful and productive meeting was held with Advocate Ms Rubina Aman Brohi, Chairperson of the Sindh Commission on the Status of Women, along with the AMAN team including COO Dr. Humera Mansoor and Manager Operations Dr. Yasmin Soomro.

An engaging and healthy discussion was held on the Gavi-supported HPV vaccine demand generation initiative being implemented by AMAN across 8 districts of Sindh, to raise awareness and improve acceptance of HPV vaccination for young girls.

Ms. Rubina expressed her strong support for this important initiative aimed at protecting women and girls from cervical cancer and promoting their right to health and wellbeing.

Together, we remain committed to empowering communities and safeguarding future generations through awareness, advocacy, and prevention.

A new wave of hope is sweeping through Karachi's East district and beyond, as communities in Sindh increasingly recognize the power of the HPV vaccine in shielding girls from cervical cancer.

On 13 May 2026, a monthly EPI review meeting was held at the DHO Office, Hyderabad, chaired by DHO Dr. Pir Ghulam Hussain.

The meeting brought together ADHOs, DFP, DFC, and all TSVs to review progress on immunization.
Kaneez Rubab Memon, FC AMAN Hyderabad, presented the current status of HPV vaccination coverage across AMAN’s 5 assigned Union Councils in the district.

Emphasizing the way forward, Dr. Pir Ghulam Hussain highlighted that joint efforts and strong community mobilization are key to increasing vaccine uptake and reaching coverage targets.

AMAN remains committed to supporting the district in protecting more girls through HPV vaccination.

AMAN held a meeting with Honourable Secretary of the Population Welfare Department (PWD), Mr. Hafizullah Abbassi, along with his team, Dr. Salochna, Dr. Humaira Mohsin and Mr Faisal Mahar. Representing AMAN were Dr. Azra Ahsan and Dr. Humera Mansoor.

The discussion focused on strengthening awareness sessions for PWD staff specially where AMAN is implementing a GAVI-funded HPV Vaccine Demand Generation project across 8 districts and 25 Union Councils of Sindh. The Secretary emphasized that awareness should reach all districts and include doctors as well as all other cadres of PWD staff. It was mutually agreed that the sessions will be conducted through a hybrid model, combining both Zoom and in-person engagement.

An important highlight of the meeting was the Secretary’s support in integrating HPV vaccine awareness materials into the PWDs chatbot platform, enabling people across the country to access authentic information about HPV vaccination and cervical cancer prevention — a significant step forward for national HPV advocacy.

The meeting also explored opportunities for collaboration through FIGO, where Dr. Azra Ahsan serves as Chair of the Contraception Committee, with the Secretary extending his full support for future joint initiatives. In addition, discussions were held on linking Bakhabar Naujawan with the Waqfa Campaign to further strengthen youth awareness and engagement.

AMAN remains committed to building partnerships that promote inclusive health awareness and improve access to lifesaving information for all communities.
