ACT Member Survey 2026

Over the past few weeks, Actors Collective of Pakistan (ACT) conducted a survey of performers regarding AI, contracts, payment practices and professional rights.

The findings confirm that concerns around AI, informed consent, contract transparency and payment delays are not isolated experiences. They reflect challenges affecting performers across Pakistan’s entertainment industry.

This research now forms part of ACT’s ongoing engagement with broadcasters, producers and other industry stakeholders as we work towards stronger performer protections, responsible AI safeguards and improved professional standards.

Nadia Hussain has raised serious concerns about the growing inclusion of AI-related clauses in television production contracts. She revealed how she herself was presented with an AI-related contract that granted production houses extensive rights to use an actor’s voice, face, likeness, avatar, and digital identity for AI-generated content, including videos, games, and other media, without additional payment, consent, or future benefits.

As artificial intelligence rapidly reshapes the entertainment industry, these clauses could have long-term implications for artists and their intellectual property rights. Nadia is urging actors to carefully review their contracts and understand exactly what rights they may be signing away.
