Barrister Ishtiaq Ahmed Memon, Vice Chairman, and Mr. Ayaz Hussain Tunio, Chairman Executive Committee, and on the information of Mr. Abdul Razzak Meher, Member Sindh Bar Council, strongly condemn the abduction of Senior Journalist Muhammad Azeem Siyal, younger brother of learned Advocate Noor Muhammad Siyal, by unidentified armed persons within the jurisdiction of Police Station Khanpur Mahar, District Ghotki.

The Sindh Bar Council expresses grave concern over the incident and demands that the SSP Ghotki and all concerned law-enforcement authorities take immediate and effective measures for the safe and early recovery of journalist Muhammad Azeem Siyal (brother of learned Advocate), identify and arrest the culprits, and take appropriate legal action against them in accordance with law.

The Sindh Bar Council further demands that adequate security and protection be provided to learned Advocate Noor Muhammad Siyal and his family.

Facilitation of Pashtun Cultural Day

Barrister Ishtiaq Ahmed Memon, Vice Chairman, and Mr. Ayaz Hussain Tunio, Chairman Executive Committee, Sindh Bar Council, convey their sincere greetings to the Pashtun community on the occasion of Pashtun Culture Day, celebrated on September 23 as a reflection of the rich history, language, traditions and cultural identity of the Pashtun people.

The Sindh Bar Council acknowledges the valuable contribution of the Pashtun community to the cultural and social diversity of Pakistan. The values of hospitality, courage, mutual respect and brotherhood deeply associated with Pashtun traditions represent an important part of our shared national heritage.

On this occasion, the Sindh Bar Council emphasizes the importance of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage, languages and traditions of all communities, which strengthen mutual understanding, unity and peaceful coexistence throughout the country. The province of Sindh is home to all the ethnicities that have survived side by side with love and mutual respect.

The Sindh Bar Council extends its best wishes to the Pashtun community on Pashtun Culture Day and expresses the hope that the occasion will further strengthen the spirit of brotherhood, tolerance and harmony among all communities of Sindh/Pakistan.

CONDEMNATION

Barrister Ishtiaq Ahmed Memon, Vice Chairman, and Mr. Ayaz Hussain Tunio, Chairman Executive Committee, Sindh Bar Council, strongly condemn the threatening call received by learned Advocate Muhammad Hamza (SBC Registration No. 52699/LC/KHI) on 24-09-2026, while he was performing his professional duties at the City Courts, Karachi.

According to learned Advocate, he was allegedly threatened by certain persons from his native village Jhagal Khan, District Kashmore @ Kandhkot, who threatened to cause harm to his family members and damage his property situated in his native village.

The Sindh Bar Council demands from the Inspector General of Police, Sindh, DIG Larkana, SSP District Kashmore @ Kandhkot, SSP South Karachi and concerned SHOs to take immediate notice, conduct a fair and impartial inquiry, identify the persons involved and take appropriate legal action in accordance with law. It further demands that adequate protection be provided to the learned Advocate, his family and his property.

In pursuance of announcement made by Sindh Bar Council on 5h of September, 2026 and observance of Sindh Unity Day on 10th September, 2026, the Sindh Bar Council in view of the decision taken in All Bars Representatives Conference regarding All Sindh Lawyers Convention by Karachi Bar Association, shall observe Sindh Unity Day tomorrow and calls for a complete suspension/boycott of court work across the Province of Sindh; tomorrow on 19.09.2026

The Sindh Bar Council also informs the Lawyers of Sindh Province and all Bar Associations to participate in the All Sindh Lawyers Convention of KBA tomorrow on 19th of September, 2026 at CPLC parking, City Court Karachi at 11 A.M

CONDEMNATION

Barrister Ishtiaq Ahmed Memon, Vice Chairman, and Mr. Ayaz Hussain Tunio, Chairman Executive Committee, Sindh Bar Council, strongly condemn the alleged kidnapping of the brother of learned Advocate Muhammad Rajel Hussain (SBC No. 54053) from Rashidi Goth, Gulshan-e-Roomi, and the continued threats and intimidation allegedly extended to the Advocate and his family.

The brother of the learned Advocate has subsequently been recovered; however, the persons allegedly involved in the kidnapping are reportedly continuing to threaten and intimidate the Advocate and his family. FIR No. 343/2026 has been lodged at PS Malir Cantt.

The Sindh Bar Council calls upon the DIG East, SSP Malir and SSP Malir Investigation to provide adequate security and protection to the learned Advocate and his family, conduct an immediate and impartial investigation, identify and arrest the culprits without delay, and take strict legal action against them in accordance with law.

Barrister Ishtiaq Ahmed Memon, Vice Chairman, Sindh Bar Council, and Mr. Ayaz Hussain Tunio, Chairman Executive Committee, Sindh Bar Council, strongly condemn the alleged unlawful and high-handed conduct of Lasbela Police towards learned Advocate Mr. Qamber Khalil (SBC No. 55234).

According to learned Advocate, on 09-09-2026, on the alleged directions of SHO Uthal Mr. Waheed Magsi and ASI Abdul Majeed, along with other police officials, entered the residence of the learned Advocate situated at Awadan Road, Uthal, District Lasbela, Balochistan, without producing any lawful warrant or Court order. He was allegedly taken forcibly to Uthal Police Station, where he was detained and subjected to harassment and mental pressure, before being released without registration of any FIR.

The Sindh Bar Council considers such conduct to be highly deplorable and a serious violation of the dignity, personal liberty, and professional independence of a member of the legal profession.

The Sindh Bar Council demands from the Inspector General of Police, Balochistan, DIG Lasbela Range, SSP Lasbela, and other concerned authorities to take immediate notice of the incident, conduct a fair, transparent, and impartial inquiry, and take strict legal and departmental action against any police official found responsible.

It is further demanded to provide protection to learned Advocate and his family members.

SINDH UNITY DAY. Bar Associations across Sindh call for complete boycott of court work on 10.09.2026 against ANY attempt to divide Sindh.

In view of the decision taken at the “All Sindh Bar Representatives Conference”, hosted by the Sindh Bar Council and attended by representatives of 52 Bar Associations of Sindh, the legal community across the Province of Sindh shall observe “SINDH UNITY DAY” tomorrow, i.e. 10-09-2026, and there shall be a complete boycott of court work by the legal community throughout Sindh on the said date.

The legal community across the Province of Sindh is called upon to observe the said day in a peaceful and dignified manner, thereby reflecting the strong, unequivocal and categorical opposition of the legal fraternity to any proposal, move or attempt aimed at dividing the Province of Sindh and reaffirming its commitment to the unity, integrity and territorial cohesion of Sindh.
