FOMMA TRUST is a non-profit educational and cultural entity in the private sector. The main aim of FOMMA Trust is “To promote the study and intelligent appreciation of art and architecture, in the contemporary manifestations as well as in a wider historical context”. Its objectives include the setting up of Museums of Modern and Contemporary Art and Art Libraries in Pakistan. Other areas of intere
st are: developing a permanent collection of contemporary works of art; displaying a variety of loan collections and exhibits to enhance public appreciation of contemporary creative expressions in art and architecture; and the production of catalogs, monographs and other art related material with a view to disseminating new information and researches in the field of visual arts. Located in the beautifully landscaped area of the centrally situated Zamzama Park. The structure a 19th Century Army Barrack was allocated to FOMMA Trust by the DHA . On November 5th 2006, the renovated and refurbished army barrack was handed over to the Foundation for Museum of Modern Art by the Defence Housing Authority at a ceremony held at the Zamzama Park.
