Honored to deliver a lecture and lead a hands-on workshop on IV injections & routes of drug administration at Sohail Trust Hospital today, organized and co-hosted by Team HEAL! 🩺💉
Brilliant teamwork co-hosting alongside Nursing Incharge Sir Shehzad. It was an absolute pleasure guiding the lovely audience and the bright young doctors from JMDC through their practical skills. Special thanks to the Principal of JMDC and the HOD of the Skills Lab for the warm welcome! 🙌✨

Why is it difficult to identify the whereabouts of an accident patient - and how we all should play or role to be there for each other.

Yes it is actually pretty natural and it shouldn't be like this but if a Dr goes missing for a few days like this , most of the world won't even notice. Let me quote from my personal experience and very recent example. I sat for aetkaf for last 4 ramadan days taking off from the hospital incharge and informing the very few immediate family members. Some of my seniors issued complains against me In Hospital where they couldn't reached out to my phone and I even has been made to do disciplinary extra duty hence was on duty on all Eid days just a few weeks back. Most of my friends and many family members didnt even Notice that I was on aetkaf. They didnt noticed and thinking about it. It Is actually really really sad knowing that you're sort disconnected from everyone. If you die alone in an accident going towards the hospital duty , most of the people you know are not even going to notice for many days . It's really heartbreaking . It's rare being sad for yourself as medical personelle . People at their worst have you to be there for them in Emergencies at their worst but you dont have people . And the worst part is - our system is so do harsh that if by chance you are not dead in any way , your same institutes and hospitals issue complains against you. It's the same everywhere. A junior's grandpa died and was late 2 hours from duty due to grief and stuff and was scolded for it. Though the one scolding him maybe didn't meant it but the system has been like this to us that we even at times forget how the other person may feel.
* Be nice to people, be nice to your doctors. It takes alot of courage and sacrifices being a Dr in this society -

It Is with Great sorrow that i annouce the passing of our mentor brig. Prof. Dr Khalid Hassan Mahmood.

He was the very first person who believed in me.
May his soul rest in peace and may he be in the highest ranks of jannah.
Inna lillahi wa Inna ilaihi rajioon.

Seconds matter, and today, this team gained the skills to make them count.

I had a fantastic time lead-instructing a Basic Life Support (BLS) session with the team at Heal. The energy in the room was incredible, and the commitment to mastering these life-saving techniques was truly inspiring.
We often think of medical emergencies as something that happens to "other people," but the reality is that cardiac arrest can happen anywhere—at home, in the office, or on the street. BLS isn't just a certification; it’s a responsibility.
When everyone knows how to perform high-quality CPR and use an AED, we create a safer community for everyone. Huge thanks to the participants at Heal for their dedication today!

Don’t wait for an emergency to wish you knew what to do. Get certified. Save a life.

Aerial firing is not celebration — it is a serious threat to innocent lives.
This awareness video highlights the hidden dangers of aerial firing and the irreversible harm it can cause. A single bullet fired in the air must come down, and too often it comes down on an innocent person.
Speaker: Dr. Umair Ahmed, ER Physician
Video by: Dr. Khurram Imam
Let us celebrate responsibly and protect our community.
Say NO to aerial firing.
