We provide free education to underprivileged children and aim to empower them with competitive learning abilities. NEHL Foundation, with its former name, Sehar Garage School, is situated at Khy-e-bane Sehar, Phase 6. The school commenced in 1999. The mission to date is to promote literacy and impart quality education to the underprivileged and deprived children who come from the lower segment of o
ur society so as to inspire them to seek knowledge and discover their potentials for a bright future, in this fast evolving, challenging and global world of today. It aims at changing underprivileged lives from an aimless one to one of hope and promise. Thus, it attempts to empower the child through education.
“Equal Education for All”, is the motto of NEHL. It attempts to impart a sound education for the poorer masses so as to give them equal opportunities to become professionals and intellectuals, resulting in long term benefits for the country and the world at large. There should be no educational disparity between girls and boys. Presently, the school consists of more than 45 students studying at the premises and more than forty sponsored students studying in reputable DHA schools of the city and St Andrews. Those who have completed their Matriculation are now seeking education in colleges. In Pakistan, educational opportunities for the underprivileged are scarce. Low-income families are unable to provide this basic right to their children, leaving their educational needs unattended. I have created NEHL to address this concern by providing quality education for underprivileged children. The emphasis is on quality which means that through NEHLs education a child will make a qualitative difference around him/her and effectively address the problems and provide solutions. To this end, NEHL recognizes that each child is an individual; that all children are creative; that all children need to be educated and succeed. NEHL respects the individual needs of each and every child. The girl child education is of paramount importance. Unfortunately, the schooling rate for girls is lower in comparison to boys all over the country NEHL aims to play a role to liberate the girl child of these societal chains and develop them into future confident women capable to address issues surrounding misogyny in a male-dominated society like Pakistan. It endeavors to provide a platform where girls will grow into confident possession of their innate endowment and share free space along with boys to voice their opinions and concerns and, to learn positive problem solving skills to enhance their growth potential. NEHL will continue to strive to provide a platform from where the child can grow in myriad of dimensions. We endeavor to inculcate courage through sensitivity and creativity to develop leadership skills in both girls and boys so that they are able to overcome their inadequacies. This will bring about positive changes in their environments which is a key to the future of humanity, for a peaceful coexistence globally. In the future, it hopes to impart digital education. To meet this end investment is required
To change the mindset of the people, we need to join hands and ensure that there is no division, no disparity between the government and private schools. No school should hold the monopoly! This is beautifully articulated in this quote by Sonia Sotimayor:
“Until we don’t get equality in education we won’t have an equal society”.
