The success and warm response IBA’s students earned themselves
there has led us to leap rather than stride; not to mention the fact that they were recognized as the 'Distinguished Delegation' at the UN Headquarters, NY. The IBA Public Speaking Society has organized its grandiose event- Model United Nations IBA Karachi. MUNIK 2010 became the crown for IBA. The event, in only its first year of existence, became an important tool in the quest for making Pakistani students from all age groups the brightest and most astute leaders they can be. The testaments of those participants speak for MUNIK itself. Last year in 2010-2011, the IBA became a force to reckon with in the department of Parlimentary debates. At this point, we compete head to head with the best institutions in the field of Parlimentary debates, and have several local wins to prove our merit. Apart from this, IBA now has its own inter university Parlimentary debate competition- Iterate, and its own intra university MUN- INTRAMUN. Both these events have received positive feedback from the IBA crowd, and have helped nurture future team members. MUNIK 2011, held with some of the most renowned committee directors in the city, became the largest MUN to take place in Karachi. The MUNIK family, which includes every organizer and participant, took more in 4 days from the event than they ever did by watching the news and hearing politicians debate!! But that was simply not enough. The students of IBA decided that they were going to put their credibility to the real test- Harvard World MUN. The World Cup of MUNs. A team of 10 students, wishing to prove their skills to the world, took up the challenge at the conference, held in Singapore. 4 won the best delegate awards, and every participant landed in the top 12 of their committees. The results proved IBA to be one of Pakistan’s leading source of future leaders. However, we do not live on our past achievements. We live for the bar we keep setting higher with each year. The academic year infront of us has quite a few challenges lined up. Are you ready to be a part of it all?
