"A Paradigm Shift in Autism: Let’s Work on the Root Causes of the Signs of Autism” The topic of the webinar on the Launch of Functional Labs in Pakistan organized by A Lab – Health Matters and My Health Junction on 16th September 2026. The session focused on functional medicine, advanced testing, and personalized care for children with autism and other special needs.

The webinar included an opening session by Ms. Batool Mirza. followed by Dr. Haya’s discussion on speech and communication difficulties through functional testing. Dr. Azra Rafiq shared insights on an integrated approach for children with special needs, while Dr. Rafiq Khanani discussed the future of functional labs and integrated care in Pakistan. 🌟

The session provided valuable insights into functional testing and the importance of a more integrated and personalized approach to supporting children with autism and special needs. ✨

Autism Without Borders (AWB), on the invitation of LifeEase Rehab Center, successfully conducted a Free Autism Screening, Medical Assessment, and Growth & Developmental Monitoring Activity for children with special needs.

The assessment was conducted by Dr. Muzna waqar (Family Medical Consultant), Dr. Najeeb (ENT Specialist), Kiran Tabbasum (Associate Psychologist, AWB), and volunteer Javeria Hameda. The team provided free screening and assessments, including medical evaluation, autism screening, growth monitoring, developmental milestone assessment, and parent guidance. “How Parents Can Support Their Child with Apraxia at Home” was the topic of the second session of the Parent Training Program organized by Autism Without Borders on 29th August 2026.

After the brief introduction by Dr. Azra Rafiq, the session by Ms. Nida Shabbir on practical ways parents can support their child with apraxia at home. She shared simple strategies to help parents understand and support their child’s speech and communication needs. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session by parents.

On the occasion of Independence Day, 14 August, Autism Without Borders organized a Free Medical Clinic at Karachi Medical Complex to promote the health and well-being of children.💚
The clinic provided free autism screening, growth and developmental screening, general physician checkups, and ENT consultations for children. In addition, gifts were distributed among the children to make the Independence Day celebration more joyful and memorable.
The initiative aimed to support families by providing accessible healthcare services while celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day with the community.
