Not for profit organization working for the empowerment of underprivileged women and children in Karachi's katchi abadis, though a 3 pronged approach: quality education, vocational training for income generation and affordable health care. Over the years Behbud Association Karachi has changed its manifesto from being a welfare organization to becoming a development organization. This change has

been envisaged and brought about as a result of Behbud Karachi’s long-term vision, internal reviews and interactions with other NGO’s and development organizations. 50 years of experience has shown that to begin freeing people from poverty, it is vital to make it happen. Our vision is educated, healthy, prosperous, empowered and responsible individuals, with equal opportunities in society.

زاہدہ کی کہانی

"جب میرا بیٹا پیدا ہوا، زندگی ایک نئے امتحان کی طرح سامنے آئی۔ ایک طرف ماں بننے کی ذمہ داری تھی، اور دوسری طرف اپنے خوابوں کو زندہ رکھنا۔

میں نے فیصلہ کیا کہ میں دونوں کو ساتھ لے کر چلوں گی۔ میں اپنے بیٹے کو ساتھ لے کر ادارہ آتی رہی — کام بھی کرتی اور اس کی دیکھ بھال بھی۔ یہ آسان نہیں تھا، مگر میں نے ہمت نہیں ہاری۔

بیہبود ایسوسی ایشن نے میرا ساتھ دیا، مجھے یہ سہولت دی کہ میں اپنے بچے کے ساتھ کام جاری رکھ سکوں۔ اسی اعتماد نے مجھے آگے بڑھنے کا حوصلہ دیا۔

آج میرا بیٹا اسکول جاتا ہے، اور جب وہ واپس آتا ہے تو میرے پاس، میرے ادارہ میں آ جاتا ہے۔ یہ صرف ایک ماں کی نہیں، بلکہ ایک عورت کی کہانی ہے جو اپنے خوابوں کو روکے بغیر آگے بڑھتی رہی۔

Many traditional food beliefs during pregnancy and childhood can affect the nutrition and health of mothers and children. In this informative session, Dr. Muhammad Fareeduddin, Head of Pediatrics at Indus Hospital and Health Network, will discuss common food taboos, clarify myths, and guide families on healthy nutrition practices.
