In Pakistan, there are over a million deaf children of school age, yet less than 5% attend school.

Deaf Reach is one of the only branch networks of schools catering to the needs of the Deaf community. Deaf Reach Schools, Colleges and Training Centers, a program of Family Educational Services Foundation (FESF), provide education and vocational training to deaf children and youth. Deaf Reach is the only branch network of schools for the Deaf reaching out into rural areas. 7 Deaf Reach Schools and

Training Centers located in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Nawabshah, Rashidabad, Lahore and Jehlum currently care for over 1200 deaf students.

11-year-old Jannat travels from Domeli Village to Deaf Reach Jhelum daily to pursue her dreams. Despite financial hurdles and starting school late, she has caught up to her peers and is now full of confidence.

From artists to doctors, our students signed the professions they hope to pursue when they grow up. Their dreams remind us that with the right support and learning opportunities, every deaf child can explore their interests and plan an independent future.

We’re proud to share another powerful step toward building a Deaf-inclusive Pakistan.

Deaf Reach has signed an MoU with Unilever Pakistan Ltd. to create employment opportunities across their nationwide network for the Deaf community, enabling a structured pathway for recruitment, training, and workplace integration.

This collaboration ensures that Deaf candidates are not only hired but fully supported with on-site interpreters during interviews, as well as sensitization sessions and sign language training for staff and supervisors.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Unilever Pakistan for their commitment to equity and diversity. Together, we can help build a future where every Deaf individual is empowered with the skills, opportunities, and support needed for sustainable livelihoods and self-reliance.
