An evening where music brought people together for something bigger than the night itself.

On 12 September, PEF UK hosted a special Qawwali evening at Chelsea Theatre, London, featuring Najmuddin Saifuddin & Brothers.

Around 30 guests joined us for an evening of soulful music, meaningful conversations, and support for education and brighter futures.

The event was organised by Suniya Qureshi, PEF UK Trustee, with supporters and members of the PEF community coming together for the cause.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening memorable.

In 1968, Hafiz Haq became an engineer. What followed was a successful professional career, but his story was never only about where that career took him. He remained deeply connected to the country that gave him his start.

“I was made in Pakistan,” he says.
That belief has stayed with him through the years, shaping the way he sees work, responsibility, and success.

Today, as Chairman of the Professional Education Foundation, Hafiz-ul-Haq is helping create opportunities for talented students in Pakistan to pursue professional education and build futures of their own.
For him, giving back is not something separate from success.

It is part of what success means.

Maheen’s achievement shows how far a PEF-supported education can take a student.

Supported by PEF through her bachelor’s education, Maheen has gone on to complete the European Master’s for Industry in Microwave Electronics & Photonics (EMIMEP), studying across Europe and gaining international research experience.

Maryam Haq, Founding Member, USA Chapter, visited PEF’s Karachi office to see the work behind the mission up close.

Her visit offered a firsthand look at how PEF supports deserving students across Pakistan and helps turn their potential into professional careers.

Over the past 17 years, PEF has awarded 27,500 scholarships and currently supports 4,000 students pursuing professional education in fields including medicine, engineering, IT, agriculture, and business. 40% of them are women, and 14% of them are orphans.

The impact continues beyond graduation, with most alumni begin earning enough to cover their entire educational cost within the 9 months of starting their careers.
Behind every number is a student, behind every student is a future worth investing in.

Some stories come full circle.

In Silicon Valley, Hafiz Haq, Founder & Chairman of PEF, and Maryam Haq Founding Member of the PEF USA Chapter, met with. Zain ul Abedien and his brother, both PEF recipients.

Zain’s journey is a powerful example of what education can set in motion. After earning admission to NUST, financial hardship put his education at risk. With support from PEF, he was able to continue his studies and build the foundation for what came next.

Today, Zain is the Co-Founder of Vyro.ai and the creator behind ImagineArt, an AI-powered creative platform that has reached 150+ million downloads worldwide and achieved top rankings across global app markets.

From a student who once needed help paying for his education to a Pakistani entrepreneur building technology used by millions around the world, his journey represents the long-term impact of investing in talent.

And what makes the meeting even more meaningful? Several of Zain’s university batchmates were also PEF recipients.

A scholarship may change one student’s path. That student may go on to change much more.

What if the only thing standing between a brilliant student and a professional degree was their family’s income?

For 83% of PEF scholars, this is their financial reality. Yet these students are pursuing degrees in demanding fields like medicine, engineering, artificial intelligence, and business. Their circumstances may explain where they started. They do not define where they can go. 

PEF exists to make sure financial hardship does not force a deserving student to give up their dream of a professional education.

Talent should be measured by what a student can achieve, not by what their family earns.
