Driving a sustainable future for Karachi with clean air, renewable energy, and electric mobility.

The Climate Action Centre -Karachi (CAC Karachi) has been established in 2023 to work on air quality, re-energization with renewables and electric motorbikes for priority action in the energy transition. Karachi is a deteriorating city which needs a rapid green transition to transform everyday practices. In this transition, green energy and electrification are key in bringing air quality to healthy from hazardous levels.

Mithi now has its first air quality monitor, a small but important step towards understanding what communities in Thar are breathing every day.

With coal mining, transport and power generation shaping the region’s air, local monitoring can help identify pollution patterns, health risks and areas that need attention.

Mithi is only the beginning. More monitors are planned across Tharparkar to build a clearer picture of air quality across the region.

More data. Cleaner air. Healthier Thar.
