Our little learners at TDF’s Children’s Daycare celebrated Earth Day through a storytelling session that helped them understand how to care for our planet. From there, they took part in a hands-on activity where they “Cleaned the Earth” by placing trash in the bin and making the planet happy again. Small actions, big lessons for a greener future.

On his death anniversary, we remember Moin Akhtar, a true legend who redefined entertainment in Pakistan. From stage to television and film, his unmatched wit, versatility, and iconic impersonations made him a household name across generations.

Starting at the age of 13, his first performance was in a rendition of Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice, after which he gradually rose to fame with the help of iconic dramas such as Rosy, Aangan Terha and Such Much. His contributions to the Pakistani showbiz industry earned him prestigious awards, including the Pride of Performance Award in 2003, the Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 2004, and a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.

Reminisced as the “best star in a night sky” by his long-standing colleague and friend Anwar Maqsood, Moin Akhter’s legacy lives on, not just in archives, but in every smile he continues to inspire.

Today marks his 15th death anniversary.

On World Art Day, The Dawood Foundation’s Taleem Programme transformed the oncology ward at Aga Khan University Hospital Pakistan - AKUH into a space of colour and creativity for a week.

Through art, children found moments of comfort and the freedom to be themselves. Each piece reflected strength and hope.
Because sometimes, healing begins with a little colour.

Building Trust, One Interaction at a Time

The frontline staff of The Dawood Foundation and Dawood Public School came together for a joint training session led by Mr. Waleed from Carnelians Consultancy. The session focused on self-management, anger management and conflict resolution, helping participants strengthen how they engage with multigenerational parents and the wider community.

Through reflection and practical discussions, the team explored how empathy, awareness and effective communication can improve everyday interactions. At TDF and DPS, we remain committed to building a culture where every interaction is respectful, supportive and connected—because when empathy leads, we all thrive.

Muhammad Iqbal, known as Allama Iqbal, was a visionary poet, philosopher and thinker whose ideas laid the foundation for the creation of Pakistan. Born on 9 November 1877, he received his early education at Government College, Lahore, and later served as a professor of Arabic at the Oriental College from 1899 to 1903. His academic pursuits took him to Europe, where he earned a PhD in 1908 from Germany, focusing on the development of metaphysics in Persia, while engaging deeply with Western philosophers such as Nietzsche and Bergson.

Iqbal’s poetry, written in both Urdu and Persian, reflects profound philosophical depth and a powerful call for self-awareness, spiritual revival and empowerment among the Muslims of the subcontinent. His celebrated works include Asrar-e-Khudi, Rumuz-i-Bekhudi, and Payam-i-Mashriq in Persian, along with Bang-e-Dara, Bal-e-Jibril and Zarb-e-Kalim in Urdu. His literary brilliance earned him titles such as Shair-e-Mashriq (Poet of the East) and Mufakkir-e-Pakistan (Thinker of Pakistan).

Beyond literature, Iqbal played a pivotal role in the political awakening of Muslims in South Asia. During the 1930 session of the All-India Muslim League in Allahabad, he presented the idea of a separate homeland for Muslims, later known as the Two-Nation Theory, which became a defining vision for the creation of Pakistan.

On his 88th death anniversary, we remember Allama Iqbal for his timeless poetry and his enduring influence on the cultural, intellectual and political identity of the nation.
