Living Wage Action Day 2025
Home-based women workers demand respect and fair wages!
Women working at home — stitching, packing, assembling — contribute massively but remain underpaid and invisible.
We demand:
1. Living wages for all home-based workers to cover food, healthcare, education, and shelter.
2. Recognition of home-based workers as part of formal supply chains.
3. Accountability from brands and suppliers for fair pay.
4. Government policies that protect the rights and livelihoods of home-based women workers.

⚠️ Exploitation of women workers continues unchecked.
Women are raising their voices with placards, saying:
“Our work matters. We want fair pay.”

Equipping women workers with the tools to claim their rights.

HBWWF organized a training session on 23 July 2025 with female factory workers on social protection and grievance mechanisms. Women leaders from various factories across Karachi came together to learn, share, and strengthen their collective power.

On the occasion of International Working Women's Day, the Home Based Women Worker Federation (HBWWF) is organizing a MehnatKash Aurat rally on 8 March 2025. The rally will be held under the theme of "Class Resistance Against the Looting of The Indus River, Our Land, and Our Environment." It will start from the Pakistan Boy Scouts Association, Khi, at 3:30 p.m., followed by the program at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi.

Thousands of women workers from different sectors and professions, and leaders from social, political, and human rights organizations will participate in the rally and express their views. 

The speakers of the program will be

سندھ کی 5,000 سالہ تہذیب کو حکمرانوں کی غلط پالیسیوں نے تباہی کے دہانے پر پہنچا دیا ہے۔ موسمیاتی تبدیلی، سیلاب اور آبی وسائل کی لوٹ مار نے سندھ کے وجود اور کروڑوں انسانوں کی زندگی کو خطرے میں ڈال دیا ہے۔ انڈس ڈیلٹا کی تباہی، زرعی زمینوں کا سمندر برد ہونا، اور پانی کی قلت جیسے مسائل شدت اختیار کر چکے ہیں، جس کے نتیجے میں لاکھوں لوگ نقل مکانی پر مجبور ہیں، فصلوں کی پیداوار کم ہو رہی ہے اور غذائی بحران جنم لے رہا ہے۔

سندھ نے ہمیشہ آبی جارحیت کے خلاف مزاحمت کی ہے۔ کالا باغ ڈیم کو عوامی جدوجہد نے روکا اور اب دریائے سندھ کے پانی کی چوری پر مبنی نئے منصوبے بھی سندھ کی زمینوں کو بنجر بنانے کی سازش ہیں۔ کارپوریٹ فارمنگ کے نام پر زرعی زمینوں پر قبضہ، ماحولیاتی تباہی اور جبری بے دخلی جیسے مسائل سب سے زیادہ مظلوم طبقات،عورتوں، بچوں، اور بزرگوں کو متاثر کر رہے ہیں۔

محنت کش عورتوں نے 8 مارچ کو سندھ دشمن آبی منصوبوں، زمینوں پر قبضے، اور ماحولیاتی تباہی کے خلاف جدوجہد کے دن کے طور پر منانے کا اعلان کیا ہے۔ ہزاروں ہاری اور مزدور عورتیں "محنت کش عورت ریلی" میں شرکت کریں گی، جس میں سیلاب، ہیٹ ویو، اور دیگر آفات سے متاثرہ افراد بھی اپنی آواز بلند کریں گے۔

اختتام: آرٹس کونسل آف پاکستان، کراچی

تمام عوام دوست، سندھ دوست اور ماحول دوست تنظیموں اور شہریوں سے اپیل کی جاتی ہے کہ وہ محنت کش عورت ریلی میں شرکت کرکے سندھ کی تباہی کے منصوبوں کے خلاف آواز بلند کریں۔
