🩸Over 100 Karachi Police Personnel Donate Blood to Save Lives!❤️

Continuing a meaningful collaboration since 2021, Muhammadi Blood Bank successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with the Karachi Police Welfare Branch on 8th October 2026 at Police Headquarters West, Ajmair Nagri.

More than 100 Karachi Police personnel voluntarily donated blood, demonstrating their dedication to serving humanity beyond their professional responsibilities.

Mr. Ghulam Abbas Badami, Patron-in-Chief, and Mr. Syed Mehdi Rizvi, CEO of Muhammadi Blood Bank, visited the camp, where they were warmly welcomed by DSP Anwar Raza, West Zone Headquarters, and Lady Inspector Madam Sharafat Khan, In-Charge Welfare Branch, Karachi Police (KPO).

During their visit, they toured the blood donation area, interacted with donors, and appreciated the dedication of Karachi Police personnel for their service to the nation and their contribution towards saving lives.

The camp arrangements and on-ground management were overseen by Mr. Syed Najaf, Manager Operations, Muhammadi Blood Bank, ensuring the smooth ex*****on of the blood donation drive.

Muhammadi Blood Bank extends its sincere gratitude to Karachi Police, the Welfare Branch, and all participating personnel for their continued cooperation and commitment to this noble cause.

These donations support Karachi Police personnel and their immediate families while also helping children with thalassemia who depend on regular blood transfusions.

🩸 Blood Donation Drive with Karachi Police – Continuing Since 2021

This year, once again, Muhammadi Blood Bank & Thalassemia Centre, a project of Muhammadi Hematology Oncology Services & Welfare Foundation, is pleased to initiate its Blood Donation Drive in collaboration with the Karachi Police Welfare Branch.

Our first blood donation camp of this year’s drive will be held on:

📍 Police Headquarters West (Ajmair Nagri)

Since 2021, Karachi Police personnel have been actively participating in these blood donation drives. The blood collected through this initiative helps facilitate Karachi Police personnel and their immediate family members whenever blood is required. At the same time, these donations also support thalassemia patients who depend on regular blood transfusions throughout their lives.

We encourage all eligible Karachi Police personnel to come forward and donate blood. Your contribution not only supports your colleagues and their families but also helps ensure the availability of blood for thalassemia patients in need.

Breast Cancer Awareness – Early Detection Saves Lives

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Muhammadi Welfare Foundation organized an awareness session with Friends of Muhammadi, bringing together young girls for an informative and meaningful conversation about breast health and early detection.

The session was conducted by Dr. Sana Zubair, Consultant Oncologist, who shared valuable information about breast cancer, its warning signs, risk factors, screening and the importance of early detection.

We were honored to have Dr. Dur-e-Naz Jamal as our Chief Guest, and sincerely appreciate her presence and valuable address.

A special thank you to all the young girls from Friends of Muhammadi who took time out to attend and actively participate in this important awareness initiative. Your willingness to learn, ask questions and spread awareness is what makes such initiatives truly meaningful. 💗

The event concluded with a shield presentation, distribution of gifts and a cake-cutting ceremony.

Together, we can create a generation that is more aware, informed and proactive about women’s health.

Strengthening Thalassemia Prevention Through Partnership

Muhammadi Blood Bank & Thalassemia Care Centre has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Institute of Cardiovascular Disease (SICVD) under the Muhammadi Thalassemia Prevention Program, in collaboration with the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA), Health Department, Government of Sindh.

The Muhammadi Thalassemia Prevention Program is financially supported by the Government of Sindh and generous philanthropists, helping expand thalassemia screening and prevention efforts

Under this collaboration, existing and newly inducted SICVD employees will undergo thalassemia carrier screening through CBC, with suspected cases further evaluated through HPLC. In addition, blood donors presenting at SICVD will also undergo thalassemia screening, creating further opportunities for early identification of Beta Thalassemia carriers.

A Blood Bank Technicians Training Session was conducted by Omair Sana Foundation in collaboration with the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA) in Sukkur, bringing together blood bank professionals to strengthen their technical knowledge and skills.

We are delighted to announce that our team member, Muhammad Qasim Katbar, Blood Bank Technician at Muhammadi Blood Bank, Jacobabad, secured 1st Position in the training.

We wholeheartedly congratulate Muhammad Qasim on this achievement and appreciate his dedication, hard work, and commitment to professional excellence.

Another Step Towards Thalassemia Prevention

Under the Muhammadi Thalassemia Prevention Program (MTPP), in collaboration with the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA), Health Department, Government of Sindh, Muhammadi Blood Bank & Thalassemia Care Centre has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University, Sukkur (BNBWU).

Through this collaboration, existing students of the University will be provided free-of-cost CBC screening, and students with suspected thalassemia carrier status will be facilitated with free Hb Electrophoresis testing for further evaluation.

We sincerely thank the management of The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University, Sukkur, for recognizing the significance of thalassemia prevention and supporting this important initiative.

We are also grateful to Dr. Dur-e-Naz Jamal, Secretary, Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA), for taking the time to support and strengthen this collaboration.

Through awareness, screening, early identification, and meaningful partnerships, we continue to move forward—one more step towards the prevention of Beta Thalassemia Major and a healthier future for generations to come.

As part of the Muhammadi Thalassemia Prevention Program, we successfully conducted our third thalassemia awareness and screening session of the year at Soorty.

During the activity, 62 employees and team members were screened for Beta Thalassemia, and one Beta Thalassemia Minor (carrier) was identified.

We sincerely appreciate the Soorty management for recognizing the importance of thalassemia carrier screening and supporting this meaningful collaboration.

Early identification of carriers, awareness, and informed screening are important steps toward preventing the birth of children affected by Beta Thalassemia Major.

Together, we are working towards a future free from Beta Thalassemia Major.
