Pakistani Student Bhawna Bai Meghwar Honored in the Field of Public Health in the USA
Bhawna Bai, a brilliant student from Mithi, Tharparkar, has been honored with the Excellence Public Health Student Award (Outstanding Academic Achievements Award) at Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, USA, in recognition of her exceptional academic achievements in the field of undergraduate public health.
It is noteworthy that this prestigious Outstanding Academic Achievements Award is presented to only one student in the entire public health program, and this year, it was awarded to Pakistani student Bhawna Bai.
She received this honor on April 30, 2025, during a special ceremony held at Wright State University. By securing this award, Bhawna Bai has not only made her parents proud but has also brought great pride to Pakistan.
Throughout her four-year undergraduate program, Bhawna Bai consistently maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA — a remarkable accomplishment that further highlights her dedication and academic excellence.
It is also important to mention that Bhawna Bai had previously secured the first position in the Pre-Medical group in the 2014 Intermediate Board Examinations in Karachi.
Bhawna Bai is the daughter of Professor Bheemraj Kalani , a renowned Chemistry professor. Professor Kalani served as the Principal of the historic Sindh Muslim Government Science College, Karachi, and retired from this position last year. During his four-year tenure, he played a key role in the revival of the college, promoting a positive academic environment, ensuring regular classes, and overseeing the renovation and beautification of the college building.
