Pakistan France Business Alliance - PFBA Welcome to the official page of the Pakistan France Business Alliance (PFBA).

Pakistan-France Business Alliance (PFBA) was incorporated in 1991 and is today an engine for promoting Pakistan-France economic and trade ties. PFBA is duly registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) as a company, limited by guarantee, under section 42 of the Companies ordinance 1984. A bilateral representative forum, PFBA consists of Pakistani businessmen involved in

economic exchanges with the French private sector; French companies represented in Pakistan also form part of this alliance.. PFBA aims to encourage business understanding and friendly relations between the business communities of Pakistan and France. PFBA facilitates the exchange of visitors and delegations between the two countries, maintain directories, periodicals, and other literature regarding trade information in French companies. Assist in identifying and circulate information amongst its members relating to business opportunities between the two countries. PFBA is the member of Chamber of Commerce France International, Paris (CCIF) since 2017.

The GCC-France Business Forum 2025 brought together over 270 participants, 60+ speakers, 11 thematic panels and 8 partners from across the Gulf - all united by one purpose: building bridges and sharing expertise.

The country and sectorial conferences that followed explored major opportunities across Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan as well as key sectors such as Luxe & Retail, Energy, Construction & Infrastructure, Healthcare, Transport & Logistics - sparking meaningful discussions and future partnerships.

Beyond the speeches and panels, the forum stood out for its dynamic networking, high-level exchanges and the collective enthusiasm of our business community.

The French Development Agency (AFD) has signed a €12 million grant agreement with Pakistan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs to boost institutional capacity for improved water and sanitation services in Lahore and Faisalabad. 💧🏙️

This grant complements ongoing French support in Punjab, including a drinking water treatment plant in Faisalabad and potential financing for a wastewater treatment facility in Lahore—key steps toward sustainable urban development.

Officials from both countries reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and enhancing quality of life for residents in rapidly growing urban centers. 🌍🌿

France remains a strong partner to Pakistan, supporting efforts to build resilient infrastructure, protect public health, and ensure environmental sustainability.

On the occasion of French National Day, Ambassador Nicolas Galey hosted a grand reception at his residence in Islamabad, bringing together dignitaries, diplomats, and friends of France for an evening of dialogue, reflection, and celebration.

In his address, Ambassador Galey emphasized the urgent need to defend fundamental human rights, especially the right to security, amid growing global tensions. He reaffirmed France’s commitment to multilateralism, stressing that only through international cooperation—particularly within the United Nations—can we build a just and lasting peace.

🇫🇷 He highlighted France’s continued support for Ukraine, and the importance of strong defence capabilities in safeguarding freedom and democratic values.

Reflecting on his three-year tenure in Pakistan, the Ambassador expressed satisfaction over growing bilateral ties, noting frequent high-level exchanges between President Macron and Prime Minister Sharif, and an expanding partnership in education, business, and innovation.

He also commended Pakistan’s economic progress, encouraging deeper collaboration in sectors like energy, climate resilience, and sustainable development.

🎓 “Pakistan’s youth, engineers, entrepreneurs and creatives are highly regarded internationally,” he noted, expressing optimism about Pakistan’s role in the global economy.

📢 Representing the Government of Pakistan, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb congratulated the French nation and lauded France’s historic contributions to philosophy, art, and global civilisation. He called for stronger EU support and expanded French investment in Pakistan’s renewable energy, tourism, agriculture, and infrastructure sectors.

On June 11, 2025, H.E. Nicolas Galey, Ambassador of France to Pakistan, had the distinct pleasure of presenting Razi Ahmed — Chairman of the Alhamra Arts Council and founder of the Lahore Literary Festival — with the insignia of Chevalier in the Order of Arts and Letters (Ordre des Arts et des Lettres).

The beautiful ceremony, held at the Ambassador’s Residence, was graced by the presence of Mr. Ahmed’s family and leading figures from Pakistan’s vibrant cultural community. A true celebration of creativity, dialogue, and enduring Franco-Pakistani cultural ties.

We had the pleasure of hosting a session of the Embassy’s Economic Council with Guest of Honour, Nadeem Javaid, PhD, Vice Chancellor of Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, who delivered a thought-provoking presentation on the challenges and priorities of the URAAN Pakistan programme, as well as the broader economic outlook of the country amidst complex internal and external dynamics.

The meeting also featured a presentation of the annual activity report by the Pakistan France Business Alliance (PFBA) team, highlighting key milestones and areas of progress in bilateral economic relations.

This was followed by an open and constructive exchange with French companies operating in Pakistan, who shared their perspectives on the local business environment, opportunities, and challenges.
