A Chance to Change

A Chance to Change A Chance to Change provides counseling services and programs for addiction and behavioral disorders. If you are in crisis please call 9-11 or the 2-11 Hotline.

We are an Oklahoma nonprofit Facing Mental Health, Addiction & Trauma, Creating Solutions, Celebrating Recovery. Our mission is to offer a chance to change lives affected by addictions and behavioral disorders. A Chance to Change Foundation was established in 1979 as an addiction treatment center, with an emphasis on helping the whole family. A Chance to Change Foundation operates its addiction tr

eatment, prevention, and education programs with the understanding that chemical dependency is a chronic disease that can be treated. ACTC believes that the family is also affected and often best results come from working with the entire family. We understand that substance abuse recovery requires ongoing support, and the agency refers to support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon, and others. A Chance to Change counselors can consult with your doctor or other referral source according to your wishes. We provide complete assessments and will offer each client recommendations for the best sources of help for their individual needs. If the client has needs we cannot meet, we will help them find the right level of treatment. We strictly follow all laws and ethical standards for client confidentiality. This site is for educational information and communication purposes. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Help Us Stock Our Pantry!

We're currently in need of more meal-based pantry items and hygiene products to help support the individuals and families we serve.

Items such as pasta and rice mixes, mac & cheese, canned proteins, cereal, canned fruits and vegetables, shampoo, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, and other everyday essentials help keep our pantry stocked and available to those who need it.

Thank you for helping ensure our clients have access to the resources and support they need.๐Ÿ’™

In Memory of Dan Batchelor๐Ÿ’™

The following tribute was written by Jo Ann Pearce, former ACTC CEO and current ACTC Board Member.

"Several years ago, the A Chance to Change Board of Directors wanted to add someone with additional talents to help advance its mission, so Dan Batchelor was invited to join. At first, he declined because he was managing several projects, including economic development work, his Economic Law group, and support for other organizations that needed his wisdom and guidance. He also treasured time with family and friends. However, after continued encouragement to serve ACTC, he agreed.

At the time, the agency had a reputation for having skilled counselors who helped those struggling with substance use disorders and related issues. Financially, however, things were difficult.

Dan quickly understood the challenge and joined fellow board members in addressing it. When he made a commitment, he meant it. Board meetings were often scheduled around Dan's busy calendar because his leadership and involvement were so valued. It wasn't long before he became Board Chairman.

I was fortunate to be serving as CEO at the time, and watching Dan lead was a master class in service, humility, and leadership. When conflicts arose, he had a remarkable ability to diffuse them without offending anyone. When resources were limited, he sought solutions. He also helped strengthen the board by recruiting additional members who could help move the agency forward.

Dan believed everyone had something valuable to contribute, regardless of their title or role. He encouraged others with positivity and was quick to recognize their accomplishments.

He was a gifted communicator who invested in relationships with fellow board members, staff, and others connected to the agency. He was sincere in his desire to help those who were struggling and kind in the way he approached it. His no-complaints attitude, positive outlook, and genuine love for people inspired me and so many others.

Dan achieved much throughout his life. At ACTC, he helped stabilize finances and expand services. But some of his greatest accomplishments may have been the people he encouraged, the organizations he strengthened, and the countless ways he shared his heart with others.

Dan loved life in a way I have rarely seen. I learned so much from him, and I know many others did as well. He will be deeply missed by all of us at A Chance to Change and by the many people whose lives were touched by his leadership, kindness, and generosity."
