The Zakat Foundation of America, through its Orphan Support Program, celebrated Pakistanโ€™s Independence Day with children from Mansehra, Attock, Swat, Sargodha, and Rawalpindi. The celebrations brought together joy, creativity, and confidence through speech, poster, and quiz competitions. ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿง 

The presence of Mr. Muhammad Arshad, Director General, Ministry of Human Rights, along with distinguished guests, made the occasion even more meaningful. More than 25 million children in Pakistan remain out of school, deprived of their basic right to education. Zakat Foundation of America, in collaboration with the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, Government of Pakistan, is conducting a household survey in Union Council Kuri, Islamabad, to identify out of school children and support their enrollment.

Through this initiative, we aim to bring every eligible child into education and work towards making Union Council Kuri a model UC where no child is left behind.

Zakat Foundation of America welcomes Pakistan's Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Mr. Syed Imran Ahmad Shah

Executive Director Halil Demir and several key members of our staff were honored to welcome Pakistan's Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Mr. Syed Imran Ahmad Shah, to our headquarters in yesterday. The Federal Minister was briefed on Zakat Foundation of America's humanitarian projects in and around the world, and took part in discussions to further collaborations inside the country.

The Federal Minister will also represent Pakistan at our sponsored two-day Turkish Festival in Chicago on August 1-2, where he will speak at a session titled "Poverty: A Global Threat," highlighting Pakistan's poverty reduction strategy, the government's programs for social safety, and the Ministry's efforts to uplift vulnerable communities. He will also participate in a session on the life and teachings of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi, where he will speak on Rumi's universal message of peace and highlight Pakistan and Tรผrkiye's shared spiritual and cultural heritage.

Zakat Foundation of America โ€“ Pakistan and the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, Government of Pakistan, signed a Letter of Understanding (LoU) to jointly implement the Back to School & Accelerated Learning Project under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Initiative. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to identifying, enrolling, and supporting out of school children, with the vision of creating Model Union Councils with Zero Out of School Children and ensuring every child has access to quality education.

Over 20 million children in Pakistan remain out of school, including 50,000+ children in Islamabad, making access to education one of the country's most urgent priorities. In collaboration with the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, Zakat Foundation of America โ€“ Pakistan is proud to launch the Back to School & Accelerated Learning Project under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Campaign. Through household surveys, community engagement, referrals, enrollment support, and Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) Centres, we are working to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn. Alhamdulillah, Zakat Foundation of America โ€“ Pakistan officially commenced the construction of Masjid Rahmah in Layyah, Punjab, under the ZFA Masjid Construction Project. More than a place of worship, this masjid will serve as a center for faith, learning, unity, and community development, leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come.
