E-Pakistan or Electronic Pakistan is a joint project of Pakistan Institute of ICTs for Development (PIID) and Centre of Information Technology (CIT). This Project was launched on December 10, 2014 in Jinnah Convention Center Islamabad. The main objectives of this project are:
1. To spread and promote the knowledge of information and communication technology (ICT);
2. To promote the use of ICT base
d products and services;
3. To develop ICT based products;
4. To provide and facilitate in ICTs based services; and
5. To create a complete ecosystem where the latest trends of IOTs/IOEs and smart cities can be followed and implemented. To achieve the above objectives the Project has been divided into sectors. These sectors are:
1. E-Education
2. E-Health
3. E-Agriculture
4. E-Governance
5. E-Tourism
6. E-Women
7. E-Youth/E-Scouts
8. E-Solar
9. E-Skills
10. E-Disaster Management & Climate Change
11. E-Ummah
12. E-Shop
13. E-Taraajum
Special Interest Groups (SIGs) have been formed of each sector to take this Project further in an aligned form and manner. These groups form the strategy, set the roadmap and action plans and then give them the relevant partners for the ex*****on. SIGs also work as a monitoring body for the relevant sector. In each SIG there are representatives of partners of E-Pakistan relevant to specific sector. Whole Project of E-Pakistan is based upon partners’ approach. On strategic level E-Pakistan has four (04) partners; Government, Academia, NGOs/CSOs and Corporate. In whole Pakistan, PIID and CIT have multiple partners at national and local level for the ex*****on purposes. Representatives of this partners are also members of sector wise SIG where strategies and roadmaps are formulated. PIID and CIT have also many international partners like UN-APCICT and APTN. These partners are major source of knowledge sharing from global to local.
