ICMAP Toastmasters Club Islamabad โ€” Meeting #741 Recap ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ

Theme: Learning to Think Again

Another wonderful evening at ICMAP Campus H-9! Meeting #741 brought members and guests together for a session full of insight, reflection, and growth โ€” all in true Toastmasters spirit: For Better Listening, For Better Thinking, For Better Speaking, We Learn By Doing.

๐Ÿ”น Presiding Officer & Toastmaster of the Evening: TM Raja Ali Haider

Word of the Day: Discernment โ€” the ability to judge well; to think carefully and distinguish what is true, valuable, or appropriate. A fitting anchor for an evening centered on thinking more deliberately and clearly.

Grateful to everyone who showed up, spoke up, and grew a little more confident tonight. See you at the next meeting! ๐Ÿš€

Another energizing evening at ICMAP Campus H-9! Meeting #740 brought members and guests together for a session packed with insight, laughter, and personal growth, true to our Toastmasters spirit: For Better Listening, For Better Thinking, For Better Speaking, We Learn By Doing.

๐Ÿ”น Presiding Officer: TM Raja Ali Haider
๐Ÿ”น Table Topics Master: TM Aabir Sabil

The Table Topics session sparked a lively discussion around Artificial Intelligence, its rapid rise, its ripple effects on traditional jobs, and what it means for how we shape our careers going forward. Members explored:

โœ… How AI is reshaping the job market and which skills stay human-essential
โœ… Charting a resilient career path in an AI-driven world
โœ… The importance of aligning expectations, with employers, mentors, and ourselves
โœ… Why research and clear communication remain a professional's strongest edge, especially after ICMA

The evening wrapped up with insightful evaluations, valuable guest feedback, and an Ice Breaker speech from our newest member, TM Aabir Sabil.

Grateful to everyone who showed up, spoke up, and grew a little more confident tonight. See you at the next meeting! ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Kodak invented the digital camera. Nokia ruled phones for a decade. Both had the tech neither could sell the story. Apple didn't out-engineer the smartphone, it out-communicated it.

That's still true today: 85% of career success comes from communication skills, only 15% from technical knowledge (Carnegie/Harvard research). And most of it isn't even words.... Mehrabian's research shows tone and body language carry far more weight than the script itself. A genuine smile alone builds trust before you say a thing. Even how you show up in a room, grooming, presence, fragrance, is a sentence you speak before speaking.

AI can write your email. It can't hold a room, read a silence, or shake a hand.

Quick one for you: which one has cost you more in your career, a bad idea poorly explained, or a good idea nobody heard properly? ๐Ÿ‘‡ Drop your answer below.

Special thanks to our special guest, Mr. Noman Abid | Professional Speaker, Corporate Trainer & Communication Expert | for delivering such an insightful and meaningful session on "Communication in the Time of AI" and to our wonderfully responsive and enthusiastic guests at
๐Ÿ“ ICMAP Toastmasters Club, Islamabad | ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ July 15, 2026.

And lastly, all of it comes down to practice, practice, and only practice.

Looking forward to seeing you at our next session every Wednesday! ๐ŸŽค

Meeting #737 | Conflict Management

โ€œIn the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.โ€ Albert Einstein.
At Meeting #737 of ICMAP Toastmasters Club, members explored the powerful theme of Conflict Management, learning how disagreements, if left unaddressed, can quietly damage relationships, while those handled with intention and maturity can strengthen trust and teamwork. The session was beautifully anchored by the Word of the Day, โ€œAmicableโ€, reminding everyone of the importance of resolving differences peacefully. Under the able leadership of Toastmaster of the Evening TM Farasat, the meeting flowed smoothly with engaging prepared speeches, thought-provoking Table Topics led by TM Mian A. Sabtain.
The evening reached a heartfelt moment when Abir Sabil delivered his Icebreaker speech. Taking his first brave step towards self-improvement, Abir broke out of his shell and shared his personal journey with confidence and sincerity. The session concluded with insightful evaluations by General Evaluator TM Raja Ali Haider, helping every participant grow. Every segment became a practical rehearsal for real-life leadership, staying composed under pressure, listening actively, and responding wisely. The meeting once again proved that Toastmasters is the perfect place to turn challenges into opportunities for growth.

Winners:
Best Speaker: Guest Nooruddin
Best Table Topics Speaker: TM Mian A. Sabtain
Best Evaluator: TM Zameer

Meeting # 714
Strength in numbers has never defined the spirit of a Toastmasters session. Although we began with a small group, the meeting quickly transformed into a vibrant and energetic gathering under the exceptional leadership of our Toastmaster of the Evening, Raja Hyder Ali. His enthusiasm, passion, and warm presence set a positive tone that kept every participant engaged throughout the session.

The theme of the meeting, โ€œSmall Steps, Big Impact,โ€ beautifully captured the spirit of the session. It reminded us that even the smallest actions, taken with intention, can lead to significant and lasting change. Each speaker reflected on this idea through personal stories and meaningful experiences, creating an atmosphere filled with inspiration and positivity.

What made the session even more delightful was the participation of our new guests, who joined the activities with confidence and without any hesitation. Their openness and willingness to engage added an extra layer of joy to the meeting.

Overall, it was a cheerful, uplifting, and thoroughly enriching Toastmasters sessionโ€”one that left everyone motivated and looking forward to the next gathering.
