Creation Care Sunday | Green Church, Green & Clean Pakistan 🇵🇰

Our Faisalabad team organized Creation Care Sunday Celebration under the Green Church Initiative Phase III, bringing together Sunday school children and teachers, Church leadership, and administration to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence while reflecting on our shared responsibility to care for God’s creation and contribute to a cleaner, greener, and healthier Pakistan.

A special thought on “Creation Care and Our Responsibility as Pakistanis” was shared by Mr. Jamshed Gill (CCT Lead, Tearfund UK) and Rev. Eli Sardar, (Principal, Pakistan Correspondence School). They highlighted the importance of protecting natural resources, keeping our surroundings clean, increasing greenery, and working together to build a healthier environment.

The message was put into action through a Tree Plantation Drive at the FGA Malkhanwala Church premises, where children and teachers actively participated in planting saplings and contributing to a greener and healthier Pakistan.

The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, bringing everyone together in a joyful celebration of faith, citizenship, and care for creation.

Building Skills, Strengthening Livelihoods!

Our Rajanpur team organized a five-day Home-Based Business (HBB Level II) Training on Advanced Dressmaking & Embroidery for 30 women under the Strengthening and Rebuilding Resilience of Flood-Affected Communities project. Led by Haji Bibi (Expert Trainer/Consultant), the training equipped participants with advanced techniques through practical demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and interactive learning. Participants also developed six-month business plans to translate their newly acquired skills into income-generating activities and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Our interns beautifully showcased Pakistan’s rich cultural diversity, celebrating the traditions, colours, languages, and heritage that make our nation unique.The celebrations also included a cake-cutting ceremony, bringing everyone together in a moment of joy and fellowship.

As we celebrate, let us continue to build a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous Pakistan where diversity is celebrated and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

To promote a clean, green, and climate-resilient school environment, our Kohistan team engaged students and teachers at Government Primary School Afzal Abad and Government Primary School Muslimabad in planting saplings under the Empowering Children as Climate Leaders to Reduce Vulnerabilities through Education and Action project.

The activity encouraged children to take an active role in environmental stewardship while fostering a sense of responsibility for protecting their surroundings. Every sapling planted today is a step towards a greener, healthier, and more resilient future.

Pak Mission Society (PMS), in collaboration with the Punjab Climate Action Network (PCAN), officially launched its Advocacy and Lobbying Campaign under the Child-Driven Climate Action (CDCA) Project through a meeting with Kanwal Liaquat Sahiba, Punjab Parliamentary Secretary for Environment and Forest.

During the meeting, the PCAN Subgroup delegation and the PMS team presented the Child Climate Charter of Demands, developed from the recommendations of Green Club members. The Charter highlights the Five Child Climate Demands, advocating for stronger climate education, meaningful child and youth participation, inclusive climate governance, children's rights in climate policies, and youth-focused climate financing.

Kanwal Liaqat Sahiba appreciated the initiative and assured the delegation that the Charter would be reviewed and shared with fellow legislators, marking the start of a series of advocacy engagements to advance the Five Child Climate Demands in Punjab.

Building safer and more resilient schools!

In collaboration with Rescue 1122, our Kohistan team organized First Aid Training Sessions for Parents & Teachers Committees (PTCs) members at Government High School Pattan, Lower Kohistan, and Tehsil Municipal Hall, Kolai Pallas, under the Empowering Children as Climate Leaders to Reduce Vulnerabilities through Education and Action project.

The hands-on training, led by Mr. Fahad Dawood (Rescue 1122), equipped participants with essential first aid and emergency response skills to effectively respond during emergencies and disasters. To further strengthen school preparedness, First Aid Kits were also provided to 20 targeted schools, enhancing their capacity to deliver immediate care and improve the safety of students and staff.

The distribution ceremony was graced by DDEOs Mr. Aurangzeb Khalil (Lower Kohistan) and Mr. Sharafat Khan (Kolai Pallas), who appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of first aid in protecting lives.

A Youth Interfaith Consultation on Social Cohesion was organized by Pak Mission Society under the Shared Future, Shared Responsibility Initiative, bringing together young people from diverse faith backgrounds to engage in meaningful dialogue on peacebuilding, social cohesion, and interfaith harmony.

The consultation provided a platform for youth to discuss the challenges affecting social cohesion in their communities and present practical solutions for building peaceful and inclusive societies.

A panel discussion on "The State of Social Cohesion and the Role of Youth in Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion" explored the current social landscape and highlighted the role of young people in promoting peace and unity. The session was facilitated by Revernd Samuel Titus and featured distinguished panelists Prof. Rev. Dr. Maqsood Kamil (Strategic Advisor – Church & Leadership, Pak Mission Society), Ms. Jennifer Jeewan (Former Director, Christian Study Centre), Mr. Subhash Chander (Chairman, Subhash Complex), and Mr. M***i Aqeel Ur Rehman, who shared valuable insights on interfaith harmony, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence.

In the closing session, keynote addresses were delivered by Mr. Ammar Jaffari (Chairman of the SDGs Academy) who highlighted Pakistan's commitment to SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and Ms. Fahmida Saleem (Programme Lead – Social Cohesion at the Christian Study Centre) who encouraged youth to promote dialogue, collaboration, and mutual respect in building stronger, more cohesive communities.

Together, we can build a future where diversity is celebrated, dialogue replaces division, and young people lead the way toward lasting peace.
