Emergency Appeal: Earthquake Response in Musakhail, Balochistan

A powerful earthquake has struck villages in District Musakhail, with the village of Chhap in Tehsil Kingri among the worst-affected areas. Preliminary reports indicate that more than 150 houses have been damaged, forcing many families to spend the night in the open. A young girl who sustained injuries received first aid at the hospital and was later discharged.

CYAAD’s emergency response team is currently on the ground conducting a rapid damage and needs assessment in coordination with local communities. As the assessment continues, it is already evident that affected families require immediate humanitarian assistance.

We urgently appeal to the District Administration, PDMA Balochistan, NDMA, humanitarian organizations, and philanthropists to mobilize emergency relief without delay. Immediate priorities include:

- Emergency shelters and tents
- Food and safe drinking water
- Medical assistance and essential medicines
- Blankets and other non-food relief items
- A rapid government damage assessment to facilitate timely relief and recovery support

Every hour matters for families who have lost the safety of their homes. While CYAAD continues to verify the extent of the damage and identify the most vulnerable households, we urge all concerned authorities and humanitarian partners to respond immediately to prevent further hardship.

Further verified updates and assessment findings will be shared as they become available.
