๐ŸŽ“ Empowering Future Engineers at CUST โ€“ Bridging Theory with Industry ๐Ÿ”ง๐ŸŒ

At the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Capital University of Science and Technology (CUST), Islamabad, we believe in preparing our students not just through classrooms and labs, but by immersing them in real-world engineering experiences.

Through active participation in prestigious national and international student societies like the ASHRAE Student Branch and PHVACR Society โ€“ CUST Student Chapter, our students gain hands-on exposure and a professional mindset early in their academic journey.

Under the committed guidance of Assistant Professor Engr. Saifullah Awan and the visionary leadership of Dr. M. Mahabat Khan (HoD, Mechanical Engineering), we ensure that our students are groomed for professional excellence.

๐Ÿ’ผ One such inspiring example is Ali Hassan, a passionate Mechanical Engineering student who explored his interest in the HVACR field and recently completed a successful summer internship at Kasib Tech โ€“ a leading MEP company affiliated with York USA.

๐Ÿš€ Hereโ€™s what Ali had to say:

> โ€œKasib Tech provided a professional, innovative, and collaborative environment where I enhanced my technical understanding, gained industrial experience, and developed key professional skills.
I am truly thankful to CUST for always aligning student opportunities with our interests and career goals. This experience helped me apply classroom knowledge in a practical setting โ€“ and grow personally and professionally.โ€

This achievement reflects the dedication of our faculty, the strength of our industrial linkages, and the talent of our students.

๐Ÿ‘ Congratulations, Ali! We are proud of you and look forward to seeing many more of our students making their mark in the industry.

๐ŸŒŸ Project Milestone Achieved โ€“ ASHRAE-Funded Innovation for Sustainable Heating! ๐ŸŒŸ

We are proud to announce the successful completion of a Final Year Project titled:

๐Ÿ”ท "Off-Grid Solar-PCM Air Heater for Sustainable Winter Heating"
Developed by our Mechanical Engineering students Maisam Raza and Abdul Wadood, under the supervision of Mr. Saif Ullah Awan (Assistant Professor, CUST).

This innovative project was generously funded by ASHRAE and showcases a smart, eco-friendly heating solution incorporating PCM thermal storage, IoT control, and energy-efficient designโ€”targeting real-world sustainability and environmental impact.

๐ŸŒ The project directly contributes to key UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as:
โœ… Affordable & Clean Energy
โœ… Climate Action
โœ… Good Health and Well-being
โœ… Sustainable Cities and Communities

We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Ather Naseem Siddiqui, Student Activities Chair at ASHRAE Northern Pakistan Chapter (NPC), for his continuous guidance and valuable cooperation throughout the project. His mentorship played a vital role in aligning this student initiative with ASHRAEโ€™s global vision of promoting sustainability in building systems and energy efficiency.

๐Ÿ‘ Letโ€™s continue fostering research, innovation, and professional excellence within our student community!
