IMPORTANT STATEMENT
For the third time in the past three years, the hostels have been closed for renovation. During this period, all students fully cooperated with the administration. Students were formally assured that the hostels would be reopened as soon as the semester began. Later, upon contacting the administration again, students were told that the hostels would be reopened by the 15th.
This is the third time that the administration has failed to fulfill its commitment. Once again, students are being forced to wander from place to place and face severe difficulties.
Serious Concerns Regarding the Online CMS
The Online CMS (Campus Management System) was developed/implemented at a cost of millions of rupees over the past three years. Despite this, it continues to face numerous problems. Student registration is often not completed by the end of the academic year, the server frequently remains unavailable, results are not uploaded on time, and course registration often remains incomplete until the end of the semester.
As a result, students’ seats are also not allocated on time. In other words, students are being made to suffer because of administrative failures.
Over the past year, the university has potentially suffered losses amounting to millions of rupees because only around 300–400 seats for foreign students were allocated throughout the semester, while the remaining seats were not allocated. Similarly, no seat allocation has been carried out at the Old Campus for the past year.
Despite this situation, the blame is placed on the students.
Issue of Increased Fees
Due to the same situation, students have been issued fee challans showing an increase of thousands of rupees. When students contact the administration regarding this matter, they are told that the issue has occurred because of the CMS and that the fees have not actually been increased; rather, it is a CMS error.
The question is: if this is indeed a CMS error, why has the administration still not formally acknowledged its mistake? Why were students not informed in a timely manner? Where is the official notification regarding this matter?
Problems Persist Despite Repeated Applications
Students’ representatives have submitted dozens of applications regarding these issues to the relevant offices, yet the problems remain unresolved.
On what basis are students repeatedly told to report their issues only to the relevant offices and not raise them in the media?
There is a record and evidence of dozens of applications submitted to the relevant offices. The question is: can these offices provide any practical evidence that these applications have actually resulted in the resolution of the problems?
Students demand to know why those responsible for this situation have not yet been identified. Who will answer for the potential financial losses faced by the university and the continuous difficulties faced by students?
Students demand clear answers, identification of those responsible, and immediate practical measures from the administration.
We make it clear that students will no longer accept these continued problems and repeated failure to fulfill commitments.
All students are urged to remain prepared.
Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba will announce the next course of action soon!
