Empowering Women Through Climate-Smart Agriculture!

Hashoo Foundation, with support from the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), conducted a 4-day Climate-Smart Agriculture training for 100 female farmers in District Diamer under GBLADP. The training focused on soil health, water management, climate-resilient vegetable production, and integrated pest management to promote sustainable agriculture and strengthen climate resilience.

The Hashoo Foundation (HF), in collaboration with IOM Pakistan, successfully completed a three-day relief distribution in Naltar, Khaltro, and Haramosh, Gilgit, distributing 129 relief kits among deserving families affected by floods.

The Hashoo Foundation (HF) in collaboration with IOM Pakistan, successfully distributed essential Non-Food Items (NFIs) to 20 flood-affected families from Golodass and Kanchy villages, Union Council Bubur, District Ghizer, under the IOM Monsoon Flood Response 2026 Project.

The assistance included Hygiene Kits, Emergency Shelter Kits, Dignity Kits, and Winterization Kits, providing essential support to families affected by the monsoon floods and helping them meet their immediate needs.

The Hashoo Foundation team, in collaboration with IOM Pakistan Pakistan, has successfully completed distribution of essential non-food items (NFIs) to support communities affected by the 2026 monsoon floods in Diamer, Gilgit-Baltistan.

The distribution reached 277 households across the targeted areas:
* 141 households in Darel
* 98 households in Tangir
* 38 households in Gonar Farm & Chilas

The assistance included Emergency Shelter Kits, Hygiene Kits, Dignity Kits, and Winterization Kits, providing essential support to families during the flood response.

Iqbal Ahmad, a social worker and lawyer from Swat, appreciated the tree plantation initiative supported by Hashoo Foundation and UNDP Pakistan under the project “Empowering Women for Peace and Environmental Justice in Swat.”

He highlighted that the initiative went beyond creating awareness about plantation. The community was actively engaged in the practical plantation activity, making the campaign more meaningful and impactful.

Youth Using Digital Voices for Environmental Action
Hashoo Foundation, with the support of UNDP Pakistan, implemented the Social Action Project “Youth Digital Advocacy for Environmental Rights” at Shahi Bagh, Bar Kalay, UC Saidu Sharif, Swat, under the project “Empowering Women for Peace and Environmental Justice in Swat.”

Project-trained EHRDs Hayat Muhammad Khan, Arshad Khan, Husan Bano, and Bibi Roqia led the campaign and engaged young people on how digital platforms can be used to raise awareness about environmental issues and climate rights.

An Insider Mediation session also brought young people together to discuss common environmental concerns, build understanding, and promote cooperation. The activity resulted in the formation of a Youth Environmental Digital Ambassadors Network and a Youth Digital Environmental Advocacy Commitment.
The initiative was supported by the Forestry Environment & Wildlife Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board - KPITB University of Swat Environmental Protection Agency Govt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and UNDP Pakistan, under the leadership of Sadia Bangash.
