Concluding Day | Two-Day Training with Helplines in Sindh
Rozan successfully concluded the Two-Day Training on Strengthening Helplines in Sindh, organized as part of its continued collaboration with the Karachi Mobility Project-Yellow Line BRTS Corridor.
Building on the learning from Day 1, the concluding day focused on strengthening participants’ ability to provide safe, ethical and survivor-centred support in complex helpline situations. Through interactive discussions, practical exercises, demonstrations, peer learning and role plays, participants enhanced their understanding of:
* Managing calls involving su***de risk and other challenging situations
* Strengthening referral pathways and coordination among service providers
* Supportive supervision, staff well-being and burnout prevention
* Workplace safety and operational standards for helpline staff
* Confidential documentation, safe data storage and data protection
* Receiving, documenting, reporting and referring cases appropriately
* Developing action plans to apply the learning within their institutions
The training provided participants with an opportunity to reflect on real-life helpline situations, exchange experiences and strengthen coordination among relevant service providers.
The training brought together representatives from a diverse range of institutions, including the Sindh Police Human Rights Cell, Women Police Station South, CPLC offices, Women and Child Protection Cell, Police Helpline, Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Rescue 1122, Sindh Child Protection Authority, Women Development Department, Sindh Commission on the Status of Women, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Indus Hospital Karachi, Sindh Child Helpline, Panah Shelter Home, Social Welfare Department, National Commission for Human Rights, Sindh Human Rights Commission, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Gender Interactive Alliance, Legal Aid Society, Roshni Helpline and Madadgaar National Helpline, among other relevant service providers.
For the certificate distribution ceremony, Syed Tauha Aziz Shah, Director Technical for the Karachi Mobility Project at the Sindh Mass Transit Authority, joined the concluding session and presented certificates to the participants. His presence added significance to the closing ceremony and reflected the shared commitment to strengthening ethical, coordinated and survivor-centred helpline services across Sindh.
The active participation, shared experiences and collective commitment of all participants contributed to meaningful discussions and strengthened efforts toward developing more responsive, accountable and survivor-centred support systems.
