اسلام آباد کے پمز ہسپتال میں آتشزدگی کے نتیجے میں 14 نومولود بچوں کا زندہ جل کر جاں بحق ہونا ایک انتہائی دلخراش اور ناقابلِ قبول سانحہ ہے۔ سول سوسائٹی پاکستان متاثرہ خاندانوں سے دلی تعزیت اور ہمدردی کا اظہار کرتی ہے۔

یہ واقعہ ہسپتال کے فائر سیفٹی، ایمرجنسی رسپانس، انخلا کے نظام اور عملے کی تربیت پر سنگین سوالات اٹھاتا ہے۔ سول سوسائٹی مطالبہ کرتی ہے کہ اس سانحے کی آزادانہ، شفاف اور غیرجانبدارانہ تحقیقات فوری طور پر کی جائیں اور ذمہ داران کا تعین کرکے انہیں قانون کے مطابق جوابدہ بنایا جائے۔

14 نومولود بچوں کو بروقت محفوظ کیوں نہیں کیا جا سکا؟ کیا فائر الارم، آگ بجھانے کے آلات اور ہنگامی انخلا کا مؤثر نظام موجود تھا؟ کیا طبی و پیرا میڈیکل عملہ ہنگامی صورتحال سے نمٹنے کے لیے مناسب تربیت یافتہ تھا؟

سول سوسائٹی پاکستان وزیرِ اعظم پاکستان، وفاقی وزیرِ صحت اور ایگزیکٹو ڈائریکٹر پمز سے فوری طور پر مستعفی ہونے کا مطالبہ کرتی ہے۔ محض تحقیقات کا اعلان کافی نہیں؛ اعلیٰ سطح پر ذمہ داری اور مؤثر احتساب ناگزیر ہے۔

ہم مطالبہ کرتے ہیں کہ ملک بھر کے سرکاری و نجی ہسپتالوں کا فوری فائر اور سیفٹی آڈٹ کرایا جائے اور تمام طبی عملے کو ہنگامی حالات سے نمٹنے کی لازمی تربیت فراہم کی جائے۔

بچوں کی جانوں کا تحفظ ریاست کی بنیادی ذمہ داری ہے۔ 14 معصوم بچوں کی جانوں کا ضیاع خاموشی سے قبول نہیں کیا جا سکتا۔

🤝 The UGOOD Delegation, on behalf of the Child Rights Movement (CRM) Pakistan and NACG Pakistan, had the privilege of meeting with Ms. Jennifer Melton, Chief Child Protection, UNICEF Pakistan, and Mr. Sohail Ahmad, Child Protection Specialist, UNICEF Pakistan, at the UNICEF Pakistan Head Office, Diplomatic Enclave, Islamabad on August 4, 2026.

On 30 July 2026, the SAIEVAC Regional Secretariat (SRS) and NACG Nepal, in partnership with SAIEVAC National Mechanisms and SACG/ATSEC South Asia, organized a Regional Hybrid Webinar to commemorate the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

The webinar brought together policymakers, legal experts, child rights advocates, civil society organizations, UN agencies, and young people from across South Asia to discuss emerging trends and collective actions to combat human trafficking, particularly child trafficking, forced labour, sexual exploitation, and cyber-enabled trafficking.

🇵🇰 Representing Pakistan, Ms. Mehwish Kayani, Co-Chair, NACG Pakistan and National Coordinator, Child Rights Movement (CRM) Pakistan, delivered a comprehensive and insightful presentation highlighting the situation of trafficking in persons in Pakistan, key challenges, policy responses, and recommendations for strengthening regional cooperation to prevent trafficking, protect survivors, and ensure accountability.

Her presentation emphasized the importance of coordinated regional efforts, child-centered protection mechanisms, cross-border collaboration, and stronger safeguards against emerging forms of exploitation affecting children and vulnerable populations.

Together, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting and protecting the rights of children and ending all forms of trafficking and exploitation across South Asia.

“Red Card to Child Labour: Fair Play for Children, Decent Work for Adults”

On the occasion of World Day Against Child Labour 2026, the SAIEVAC Regional Secretariat, in collaboration with SACG and NACG Pakistan, United Global Organization of Development - UGOOD, Child Rights Movement (CRM) and Ministry of Human Rights, Government of Pakistan is organized a Regional Online Consultation to strengthen collective efforts towards ending all forms of child labour in South Asia.

Despite global progress, millions of children continue to be deprived of their fundamental rights and are engaged in child labour, hazardous work, trafficking, bonded labour, domestic servitude, and other exploitative situations. These children are often denied access to education, protection, health, and opportunities for a safe and dignified future.

This regional consultation will provide a platform for governments, civil society organizations, children, youth, development partners, and other stakeholders to:
✅ Amplify children’s voices in addressing child labour.
✅ Discuss regional progress and challenges in achieving SDG Target 8.7.
✅ Promote the implementation of the SAIEVAC Regional Action Plan (RAP) 2024–2029.
✅ Strengthen understanding of the Marrakech Global Framework for Action Against Child Labour (MGFAACL) and the Durban Call to Action.
✅ Identify country-level initiatives and develop mechanisms to monitor progress towards the elimination of child labour in South Asia.

Together, let us reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that every child enjoys their right to education, protection, participation, and a childhood free from exploitation.

A highly productive and constructive meeting was held on 📅 March 12, 2026 at the 🏛️ National Assembly of Pakistan between the Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights (PCCR), led by Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan (Convener, PCCR), and a delegation from the United Global Organization of Development - UGOOD, led by Syed Ish Gilani, CEO UGOOD.

📌 The PCCR serves as a vital cross-party parliamentary platform dedicated to the promotion, protection, and safeguarding of children’s rights in Pakistan through legislative oversight, policy advocacy, and stakeholder engagement.

💬 The meeting focused on:
✔️ Strengthening collaboration for child safeguarding initiatives
✔️ Enhancing policy and legislative frameworks
✔️ Promoting safe and protective environments for children
✔️ Reinforcing institutional mechanisms for child protection

🤝 Both PCCR and UGOOD reaffirmed their commitment to working together to advance the rights, protection, and well-being of children across Pakistan.
