In partnership with Pakistan Coalition for Education - PCE, PYCA organized a Town Hall in Tando Hyder, Hyderabad, Sindh, to amplify community voices on education.

Before the event, we conducted Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with students and parents to better understand the education challenges they face. These concerns were then brought to the Town Hall (Baithak), where students engaged directly with education department officials, government representatives, and community leaders. Following the discussion, we held one-on-one meetings with the guest panelists to secure their pledges and commitments toward addressing the issues raised.

We presented Punjab's post-budget education analysis to MPAs across the province — looking beyond the total numbers to what education financing should actually prioritise.
Our key asks:
→ Finance foundational learning (ECE and primary years) more to ensure children build a strong foundation for learning in materials years.
→ Balance spending on buildings with spending on learning. A new block means nothing if the child inside still can't read.
→ Close the gap between recurrent and development spending.
→ Invest substantially in special education, so access is truly inclusive.
→ Publish a detailed, gender disaggregated budget — down to district level.
→ Tie every rupee spent to a learning outcome.
→ Increase financing for skills-based education, so school leads to market relevance and increases employability.
This isn't just about spending more — it's about spending it where it changes a child's future, starting with girls and marginalised learners, who are the first pushed out when the system underperforms.
