Preparing the Next Generation for Climate Resilience in Chitral 🌍

Chitral continues to face the harsh realities of climate change, from destructive floods to landslides that disrupt lives and livelihoods. These challenges remind us that the resilience of our communities depends on how well we prepare the next generation to understand, act, and lead in building sustainable futures.

At Climate Class Connection, we are committed to creating spaces where young people can rise as climate leaders. On 2nd and 3rd September, Community-Based School Reshun, Upper Chitral became a shining example of this commitment.

✨ The initiative began with thought-provoking sessions by teachers who shared the urgent need for climate action, reflecting on the devastating floods in Reshun and reminding students that youth hold the power to lead meaningful change.

Over two days, both girls and boys, alongside their teachers, organized Climate Walks and led plantation drives in Kulum Shugur, an area severely impacted by flash floods and at high risk of future damage. What made this moment historic was that young girls stepped onto the streets to advocate for climate awareness, side by side with their peers and teachers, combining their voices with practical action.

🌱 This initiative reflects the power of inclusive youth leadership where courage, unity, and action come together to restore environments and strengthen community resilience against future disasters.
Our heartfelt thanks to VVOB for their invaluable support in making this project possible.
