Raising Voices Against Street Harassment | Layyah

Street harassment is not “just a joke” or “just a comment.” It affects safety, dignity, confidence, and freedom of movement.

As part of its community awareness efforts, Bedari conducted awareness sessions with girls and boys in Layyah, creating space to discuss different forms of street harassment, its impact, harmful social norms, and the role of bystanders in challenging inappropriate behaviour.

The message was simple: safe public spaces are everyone’s responsibility. By speaking up, supporting those affected, and promoting respect and equality, young people can become active agents of change.

Empowering Leadership, Education & Voices for Adolescent Girls to Thrive & Excel

In a significant step toward strengthening girls' education in the region, a bicycle distribution ceremony was held today in District Bhakkar under the ELEVATE Project.

Deputy Commissioner Bhakkar Ahsan Ali Jamali, along with CEO Education Bhakkar Shazia Toufique, distributed bicycles to 100 girl students from 10 schools across the district to provide safe, accessible, and sustainable transportation to and from school.

Speaking at the ceremony, DC Bhakkar Ahsan Ali Jamali said initiatives like these are essential to removing the everyday barriers that keep girls from continuing their education, and reaffirmed the district administration's commitment to supporting every child's right to learn.

CEO Education Shazia Toufique echoed similar sentiments, noting that mobility plays a key role in school attendance and retention, especially for girls in rural and semi-urban areas.

The energy was already high 🎉

The day kicked off in District Bhakkar with 100 girls from 10 schools showing up for a moment that is about to change their daily commute — literally.

But for Bedari, these bicycles are about much more than getting from one place to another. They are about access, confidence, independence, and the freedom to keep moving forward.

When a girl can reach school safely and independently, she gains more than mobility. She gains time, confidence, opportunities to learn, and the space to imagine a future beyond the limitations around her.

Because sometimes, supporting a girl’s education means giving her the means to simply get to the classroom and then giving her every reason to keep going.

By enabling girls to travel to school safely and independently, we are helping reduce mobility barriers, strengthen their access to education, and expand their opportunities to continue learning.

12th Self-Growth Session | ELEVATE Project – Kasur

Bedari successfully conducted the 12th Self-Growth Session with adolescent girls from selected schools in Pattoki, District Kasur, under the ELEVATE Project – Empowering Leadership, Education & Voices for Adolescent Girls to Thrive & Excel.

The session brought together girls from GGHS Khanky Mor, providing them with a safe and interactive space to strengthen their confidence, communication skills, self-awareness, leadership abilities, and decision-making.

Through engaging discussions and participatory activities, the girls reflected on their personal growth, shared their experiences, and explored ways to become more confident and active in their schools, families, and communities.

The completion of the 12th session marks another important milestone in creating opportunities for adolescent girls to learn, grow, lead, and raise their voices.
