The Jamaat-e-Islami جماعتِ اسلامی "Islamic Party" abbreviation, JI is a far-right and Islamist political party, advocating for the religious fundamentalism and the Theocratic based government system in Pakistan. The JI is the oldest party founded on August 26, 1941 in Lahore by Muslim theologian Abul Ala Maududi. The party is led by an Emir (lit. Commander), and currently Syed Munawar Hasan is presently tenuring as Emir of JI. The JI is headquartered in Mansoorah, Lahore.
