Did you know? Early breastfeeding can reduce child mortality and boost brain development.

ACT International is on the ground, working hand-in-hand with hospital staff and families to ensure these messages reach the mothers who need them most. We recently concluded successful awareness activities in THQ Haveli Lakha, THQ Chichawatni, and DHQ Sahiwal.

Together with the Government of Punjab and BISP, we are reinforcing the message: Supporting mothers means supporting a healthier Pakistan. 🇵🇰

ESEF-KP and ACT International Signed MoU to Promote Life Skills-Based Education!

The Elementary & Secondary Education Foundation (ESEF), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Aiming Change for Tomorrow- ACT have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Non Formal Education in KP.

The MoU was signed at the ESEF-KP office by Mr. Qaisar Alam, Managing Director, ESEF KP, and Mr. Mubashar Nabi, CEO, ACT.

Under the partnership, ESEF-KP and ACT will work to strengthen students’ communication, critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. The initiative aims to help students become more confident, responsible, and better equipped to address everyday challenges.

The collaboration is an important step toward strengthening quality, relevant, and holistic education through life skills development across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The first hour of a child’s life can shape the years that follow.

The first hour after birth is a precious moment. Early initiation of breastfeeding within the first hour of life gives newborns the best possible start by providing essential nutrients and protection through the mother’s first milk (colostrum).
Breastfeeding is one of the most powerful ways to support a child’s survival, growth, and development. Exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months provides infants with the nourishment they need and lays the foundation for a healthier future. In Punjab, exclusive breastfeeding remains a critical challenge, with only around 44% of infants under six months exclusively breastfed, the lowest rate among Pakistan’s provinces according to the National Nutrition Survey.
In Pakistan, millions of children continue to face the challenges of malnutrition, making stronger breastfeeding support and awareness more important than ever.
This World Breastfeeding Week 2026, ACT International joins hands with UNICEF Pakistan, World Health Organization, World Food Programme, the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination, and the Benazir Income Support Programme under the theme:

“Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works.”
Through the Benazir Nashonuma Programme, ACT International continues to support mothers and families with nutrition counselling and breastfeeding awareness through Facilitation Centres across Lahore and Sahiwal Divisions, reaching more than 175,000 pregnant and lactating women and children.
