A community meeting was held at Harn Maira Mosque after the Ijtema of Namaz-e-Jumma in the presence of the Imam Masjid and other key community stakeholders. Participants appreciated the initiative and pledged their support for promoting education and enrollment of Out-of-School Children (OOSC). During the meeting, community members also highlighted the challenges faced by the area, sharing that the only two available schools for boys and girls are primary-level institutions that are overcrowded and facing serious issues related to limited space and shortage of teachers. They requested further support to improve educational facilities in the area.

We have successfully kicked off the pilot of Life Skills for Potential Migrants in collaboration with GIZ Pakistan in Lahore!
With interactive discussions and reflective activities, participants took major steps towards building confidence, self management and understanding of the professional and cultural expectations from the youth when they migrate to Germany

An advocacy meeting was held today with community influencers in Village Paija, UC 16 Darwala, including the Imam Masjid, Principal IMSB Dhaliala, parents, and other key stakeholders. The discussion focused on the project background and updates regarding Out-of-School Children (OOSC) in the UC. Participants appreciated the initiative, showed a positive response, and assured their support and cooperation for promoting children’s education in the community.

Group photo from the 2nd National Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Action held at NDMA Headquarters, Islamabad, bringing together national and international stakeholders committed to strengthening disaster resilience and advancing anticipatory action in Pakistan.

The two-day dialogue convened representatives from government institutions, UN agencies, humanitarian and development partners, academia, private sector, and climate experts to discuss forecast-based early action, preparedness mechanisms, and coordinated strategies for reducing the impacts of climate-induced disasters.

The platform also marked the soft launch of Pakistan’s National Anticipatory Action Strategy, reinforcing the country’s commitment to proactive disaster risk management and resilient communities.

Pakistan is strengthening its commitment to climate resilience through the 2nd National Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Action, hosted by NDMA in collaboration with key humanitarian and development partners including ACT International, WFP, FAO, IFRC, and Welthungerhilfe.

The platform brings together government institutions, humanitarian actors, climate experts, and development partners to promote early action, institutionalize anticipatory approaches, and reduce the impact of climate-induced disasters through coordinated preparedness and risk-informed decision-making.

Together, we move from reaction to anticipation for a safer and more resilient Pakistan.

The 2nd National Dialogue on Anticipatory Action convened policymakers, humanitarian partners, climate specialists, and development organizations to advance Pakistan’s preparedness and resilience against climate-related disasters.

The dialogue emphasized the importance of early warning systems, forecast-based interventions, disaster risk reduction, and coordinated response mechanisms aimed at safeguarding vulnerable communities before disasters strike.

The event was organized by the National Disaster Management Authority Pakistan and co-organized by the World Food Programme, FAO Pakistan, the European Union, ACT – Aiming Change for Tomorrow, Welthungerhilfe , and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening anticipatory action and climate resilience across Pakistan.
