Barkat Project Pakistan - New Cycle Initiation & Farmer Engagement 🇵🇰.

The Barkat Project has commenced its new project cycle with structured field-level engagement and documentation. The team is meeting participating farmers to explain the project mechanism, responsibilities, agreements, animal care requirements, and the shared-benefit model before formally completing documentation and handing over livestock.

This transparent process helps ensure that every participant clearly understands the partnership from the outset.

Alongside livestock distribution, the project team provides veterinary support, animal identification/tagging, health checks, and practical guidance on livestock management.

These field activities reflect Barkat’s approach of combining productive assets with knowledge, monitoring, and technical support to strengthen sustainable rural livelihoods.

We continue strengthening the quality of non-formal education through its ZEST Teachers’ Monthly Refresher Training. These regular sessions focus on improving teaching skills, classroom management, creative learning methods, lesson planning, and the effective use of low-cost teaching materials.

Through this community-based non-formal education model, ZEST has reached around 15,000 out-of-school children in slums of karachi, bringing learning opportunities closer to underserved communities. Continuous teacher development remains central to maintaining and improving the quality of this growing educational outreach.

The NGO World Foundation deeply values the commitment and voluntary contributions of its team members and volunteers. In recognition of his dedicated service, Ghazi Tahir Joiya, District Coordinator, Khanewal, was presented with an Appreciation Certificate by the Chairman of The NGO World.

Mr. Tahir has played an effective voluntary role in ensuring regulatory compliance, fulfilling departmental requirements, and facilitating the smooth functioning of the organization.

International Literacy Day 2026;
Learners from ZEST Non-Formal Education Centers participated in the provincial celebration of International Literacy Day 2026, organized by the Directorate of Literacy & Non-Formal Education, Government of Sindh, at Arts Council Karachi. ZEST learners presented a welcome performance before distinguished participants, including the Honourable Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah and Secretary Education Zahid Ali Abbasi, School Education & Literacy Department, Government of Sindh

Through its partnership with Literacy & NFE Sindh, ZEST is expanding learning opportunities for out-of-school children while ensuring their development beyond academics. Participation in such provincial platforms provides learners with valuable exposure, builds confidence and communication skills, and strengthens their inclusion in the wider education community.

In the blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the ZEST Education Project organized special awareness sessions across its Non-Formal Education Centers, connecting children with the beautiful life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Our project team visited the centers and engaged learners through age-appropriate presentations highlighting practical lessons from the Seerah—compassion, honesty, patience, respect, justice, kindness, and service to humanity. 🌿📚

These sessions encouraged children to understand how the Prophet’s ﷺ timeless values can guide their everyday behavior, relationships, and responsibilities.
