The National Coordinator, Awaz e Niswan, Ms. Urooj Obaid, recently organized a session for the male staff, focusing on topics integral to the workplace environment. The session, focused on gender dynamics, gender-based violence (GBV), and safeguarding, aimed to engage the participants in critical discussions surrounding these important topics. The National Coordinator facilitated a comprehensive discussion on Oxfam guidelines, emphasizing their importance in promoting a culture of safety and respect within the organization. To enhance understanding, a documentary on safeguarding was shown, shedding light on the various facets of this critical issue.

To ensure active participation and practical application of the knowledge gained, the session concluded with an engaging activity centered around addressing gender-based violence. This comprehensive approach not only informed the male staff about crucial issues but also encouraged a collective commitment to upholding Oxfam's principles and contributing to a safe and respectful working environment.

Members of Awaz e Niswan Hunza chapter came together to celebrate their triumph over gender-based violence and to raise awareness about climate change. They shared inspiring stories of resilience, underlining the need for mutual support to break free from inequality. Beyond gender concerns, these women emphasized the strong connection between gender equality and environmental sustainability. Advocating for action against climate change, they highlighted the crucial role of women as both the most affected and vital agents of positive change. The event concluded with a commitment to continue their efforts for a more equal world and a sustainable future, leaving an impactful legacy in Hunza and beyond.

Awaz e Niswan Coordinator from Sindh held joint meeting with Chakiwara and Nawabad chapters. During the meeting, they discussed the modality and the issues to be raised in their upcoming meetings with the government representatives. The Nawabad and Chakiwara chapter members shared the outcomes of the community meetings by highlighting various issues being faced by women. The issues included: lack of access to and permission for girls to pursue education, lack of skill development opportunities and resources, limited provision of basic utilities such as water and gas facility, challenges in obtaining government documentation. It was agreed to take up the issues to the elected representative of Lyari town chairman.

Chapter president initiated a discussion on issues affecting women in the community and the ways in which chapter is providing support and guidance to the community women. A Gender-Based Violence (GBV) case was reported to the Sindh Women Commission and the chapter member Sabiha Shah, played a pivotal role of providing contact information of relevant organizations that could assist in addressing this issue.

At the end, chapter members shared their powerful experiences, creating impactful placards with strong messages against gender-based violence while commemorating the 16 Days of Activism.

Recently, Awaz e Niswan Sindh chapters convened a meeting at the Maripur Centre in Karachi. During the gathering, young leaders engaged in one-on-one discussions regarding their upcoming meeting with the elected local body representatives of the Layari region. They addressed various issues and prioritized them for the forthcoming discussion. Young women emphasized the necessity for a skill development center in Layari and also raised concerns about the electricity shortfall and subsequent load shedding.

Moreover, Ms. Nazia, the regional coordinator, while discussing the importance of political participation of young women, advocated the fact that empowering young women's political participation in Pakistan is essential for achieving gender equality and creating a more inclusive and progressive society. Furthermore, she shed further light on several prevailing gender issues and sought the participants' opinions while guiding them. In the context of cyber safety and digital skills, the attendees were introduced to digital literacy skills and the importance of social media in today's age.
