Discrimination against women and girls continues to affect many aspects of their lives around the world. Despite decades of global efforts and commitments to equality, many women and girls still face barriers to their basic rights, opportunities, and safety.
It is deeply concerning that many years after the international community recognized the importance of International Women’s Day, women and girls in many parts of the world are still struggling for equality, dignity, and justice. Gender-based violence, discrimination, and unequal access to opportunities remain serious challenges that must be addressed with urgency.
Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but also a cornerstone for building peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable societies. Ensuring equal rights for women and girls benefits entire communities and strengthens social progress.
On the occasion of , the Pakistan International Human Rights Commission (PIHRC) reaffirms its commitment to promoting gender equality, protecting the rights of women and girls, and supporting efforts to eliminate discrimination in all its forms.
Together, we must continue working towards a world where women and girls enjoy equal rights, justice, dignity, and opportunities. Ending discrimination requires collective responsibility, stronger policies, and continued global commitment.
