On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Pakistan International Human Rights Commission (PIHRC) reaffirms its strong commitment to the promotion and protection of the rights of women and girls across the world. This important day serves as a reminder that gender equality, dignity, and justice for women remain fundamental pillars for building peaceful, inclusive, and progressive societies.

During a recent visit to the United Nations office, representatives had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with a Canadian Representative for Women’s Rights. The exchange of views focused on the importance of strengthening international cooperation to promote gender equality, protect women from discrimination and violence, and ensure equal opportunities for women and girls in all spheres of life.

The Pakistan International Human Rights Commission believes that empowering women is essential for the development and stability of societies. Women play a vital role in shaping communities, promoting peace, and contributing to social and economic progress. However, many women around the world continue to face discrimination, injustice, and barriers that prevent them from fully exercising their rights.

On this International Women’s Day, the Pakistan International Human Rights Commission calls upon governments, institutions, and civil society to work together to eliminate all forms of discrimination and violence against women. Protecting women’s rights is not only a matter of justice but also a necessary step toward achieving sustainable development and lasting peace.

The Pakistan International Human Rights Commission remains committed to advocating for gender equality, human dignity, and the protection of fundamental rights for all.

آج دنیا بھر میں خواتین کا عالمی دن منایا جا رہا ہے، جو خواتین کی جدوجہد، ان کی کامیابیوں اور معاشرے میں ان کے اہم کردار کو تسلیم کرنے کا دن ہے۔ یہ دن ہمیں یاد دلاتا ہے کہ خواتین کے حقوق، وقار اور برابری کے لیے جدوجہد ابھی مکمل نہیں ہوئی اور دنیا کے کئی حصوں میں خواتین آج بھی امتیازی سلوک، ناانصافی اور عدم مساوات کا سامنا کر رہی ہیں۔

پاکستان انٹرنیشنل ہیومن رائٹس کمیشن اس موقع پر اس عزم کا اعادہ کرتا ہے کہ خواتین اور بچیوں کے بنیادی انسانی حقوق کے تحفظ اور ان کے وقار کے فروغ کے لیے اپنی کوششیں جاری رکھے گا۔ پاکستان انٹرنیشنل ہیومن رائٹس کمیشن کا ماننا ہے کہ کسی بھی معاشرے کی ترقی اور خوشحالی اس وقت تک ممکن نہیں جب تک خواتین کو مساوی حقوق، مواقع اور تحفظ فراہم نہ کیا جائے۔

خواتین نہ صرف خاندان بلکہ معاشرے اور ریاست کی ترقی میں بھی بنیادی کردار ادا کرتی ہیں۔ پاکستان انٹرنیشنل ہیومن رائٹس کمیشن اس بات پر زور دیتا ہے کہ خواتین کے خلاف ہر قسم کے تشدد، استحصال اور امتیازی سلوک کا خاتمہ کیا جائے اور انہیں تعلیم، روزگار اور قیادت کے میدان میں برابر کے مواقع فراہم کیے جائیں۔

خواتین کا عالمی دن ہمیں یہ پیغام دیتا ہے کہ ہمیں ایک ایسا معاشرہ تشکیل دینا ہوگا جہاں خواتین اور مرد دونوں کو برابری، انصاف اور احترام حاصل ہو۔ پاکستان انٹرنیشنل ہیومن رائٹس کمیشن اس بات پر یقین رکھتا ہے کہ خواتین کے حقوق کا تحفظ ایک پرامن، منصفانہ اور ترقی یافتہ معاشرے کی بنیاد ہے۔

آئیں ہم سب مل کر اس عزم کا اعادہ کریں کہ خواتین کے حقوق، عزت اور برابری کے لیے اپنی آواز بلند کریں گے اور ایک زیادہ منصفانہ اور مساوی دنیا کے قیام کے لیے مشترکہ جدوجہد جاری رکھیں گے۔

Discrimination against women and girls continues to affect many aspects of their lives around the world. Despite decades of global efforts and commitments to equality, many women and girls still face barriers to their basic rights, opportunities, and safety.

It is deeply concerning that many years after the international community recognized the importance of International Women’s Day, women and girls in many parts of the world are still struggling for equality, dignity, and justice. Gender-based violence, discrimination, and unequal access to opportunities remain serious challenges that must be addressed with urgency.

Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but also a cornerstone for building peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable societies. Ensuring equal rights for women and girls benefits entire communities and strengthens social progress.

On the occasion of , the Pakistan International Human Rights Commission (PIHRC) reaffirms its commitment to promoting gender equality, protecting the rights of women and girls, and supporting efforts to eliminate discrimination in all its forms.

Together, we must continue working towards a world where women and girls enjoy equal rights, justice, dignity, and opportunities. Ending discrimination requires collective responsibility, stronger policies, and continued global commitment.

“We cannot afford for more powder kegs to ignite.” Urgent and meaningful steps are needed to de-escalate the ongoing crisis in the Middle East and to give peace a real chance. The protection of civilians, respect for international humanitarian law, and renewed diplomatic efforts must remain a top priority for the international community.

The Pakistan International Human Rights Commission (PIHRC) calls on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, avoid further escalation, and prioritize dialogue and peaceful solutions while ensuring the protection of civilians and fundamental human rights.

Prompt and thorough investigations must be conducted to examine these incidents, particularly to determine whether the attacks complied with the principles of distinction, proportionality, and necessary precautions under international humanitarian law.

‏سلامتی کونسل میں، اقوام متحدہ کے سیکرٹری جنرل انتونیو گوتریس نے مشرق وسطیٰ میں فوری طور پر دشمنی کے خاتمے اور کشیدگی کو کم کرنے کا مطالبہ کیا۔

پاکستانی انٹرنیشنل ہیومن رائٹس کمیشن، امام آیت اللہ علی خامنہ ای کی شہادت پر گہرے رنج و غم اور سخت مذمت کا اظہار کرتا ہے۔ یہ افسوسناک واقعہ نہ صرف ایران کی قیادت پر حملہ ہے بلکہ خطے کے امن اور عالمی استحکام کے لیے بھی سنگین خطرہ ہے۔

پاکستانی انٹرنیشنل ہیومن رائٹس کمیشن ایرانی عوام اور تمام سوگوار خاندانوں سے دلی تعزیت کا اظہار کرتا ہے۔ ایسے اقدامات بین الاقوامی قانون، خودمختاری اور انسانی وقار کی صریح خلاف ورزی ہیں۔

ہم امریکہ اور اسرائیل سے مطالبہ کرتے ہیں کہ وہ مزید کشیدگی اور جارحیت سے فوری طور پر گریز کریں، جبکہ ایران سے بھی اپیل کرتے ہیں کہ وہ صبر و تحمل کا مظاہرہ کرے اور شہری جانوں کے تحفظ کو اولین ترجیح دے۔

اس نازک وقت میں جب عوام بڑی تعداد میں سڑکوں اور عوامی مقامات پر موجود ہیں، شہری ہلاکتوں کا خطرہ بڑھ جاتا ہے۔ انسانی جان کا تقدس ہر حال میں مقدم رہنا چاہیے۔
