We’ve been working in Pakistan since 1987, building educated, healthy, and resilient communities and supporting people of Pakistan to develop sustainable livelihoods. Day 2 Highlights | Four-Day Training on Climate Change, DRR, Life Skills & Active Citizenship

Day 2 of the training in Islamabad focused on Climate Change awareness and Job Attainment, engaging 24 youth participants from 6 Civil Society Groups (CSGs) in meaningful discussions and practical learning.

Participants explored the causes and impacts of climate change, the importance of community-level climate action, and the role youth can play in promoting environmental responsibility. The sessions also introduced job attainment skills, including identifying opportunities, building employability skills, and preparing for the evolving job market.

Organized by VSO Pakistan in collaboration with Bargad Society of Human Resources and supported by UK International Development, the training continues to strengthen the capacity of civil society groups by combining climate awareness with practical life and career skills.

Through interactive activities and group discussions, participants reflected on how youth leadership, environmental awareness, and employability skills can work together to create resilient and active communities.

Day 1 Highlights | Four-Day Training on Climate Change, DRR, Life Skills & Active Citizenship in Islamabad (10-13 March)

The first day of the four-day training in Islamabad focused on Life Skills and Active Citizenship, bringing together 24 young participants from 6 Civil Society Groups (CSGs). The session emphasized the importance of self-awareness, critical thinking, communication, and collective responsibility in strengthening youth engagement within communities.

Organized by VSO Pakistan in collaboration with Bargad Organization for Youth Development and supported by UK International Development, the training aims to equip civil society actors with practical skills to address community challenges while promoting climate awareness and disaster risk reduction.

Through interactive discussions, group exercises, and reflection activities, participants explored how life skills can strengthen active citizenship and empower youth to become responsible and proactive community leaders. The energy and engagement of participants set a strong foundation for the upcoming sessions in the training.

We are currently seeking skilled and experienced individuals or organizations to support an assignment to digitalize a set of existing training manuals for delivery on a digital learning platform. The objective is to convert the manuals into engaging online, self-paced learning content that young people can easily access and complete.

We are looking for a capable partner to undertake this assignment on an urgent basis. If you believe your expertise aligns with the requirements outlined in the attached Terms of Reference (TOR), we would be pleased to receive your proposal.

VSO Pakistan recently conducted a comprehensive capacity-building training designed to enhance the knowledge, practical skills, and community engagement approaches of our dedicated volunteers.
Over the course of the training, participants explored key thematic areas including Job Attainment, Climate Change & Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and Inclusive Education. To ensure meaningful learning, structured pre- and post-assessment tools were integrated to measure knowledge growth and continuously improve our training approach.
Our volunteers are now better equipped with the confidence, skills, and practical tools needed to create impact and contribute to sustainable change within their communities.
Because when we invest in volunteers, we invest in stronger, more resilient communities.

Here are the details of the most exciting day of the Trainings.
Closing 4 days of learning, growth, and transformation with a proud moment , celebrating our CSG trainees as they receive their certificates.
Over the past four days, participants have engaged in an enriching journey of Life Skills, Active Citizenship, and Entrepreneurship, building confidence, strengthening their sense of responsibility, and exploring their potential as future changemakers.
A key highlight of the training was the exposure visit to an Eco Brick initiative, where trainees witnessed a practical example of how environmental challenges can be transformed into sustainable business opportunities. This experience helped them connect their learning with real-world green business models and understand the role of youth in promoting environmentally responsible solutions.
This initiative, organized by VSO Pakistan in collaboration with BARGAD and supported by UK International Development, reflects our shared vision of empowering youth with the skills, mindset, and exposure needed to lead positive change.
Congratulations to all our trainees, your certificates are a symbol of your growth and the beginning of your journey as active citizens and future entrepreneurs. We look forward to seeing your ideas turn into action. 💚

Day 3 focused on “My Money, My Plan” under the themes of Ideas to Business and Green Business.

Participants explored how to turn ideas into practical business models while integrating sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
Through engaging activities and hands-on training sessions, they worked on refining their concepts, understanding basic financial planning, and aligning their ventures with green principles for long-term impact.

Organized by VSO Pakistan in collaboration with Bargad Organization for Youth Development and supported by UK International Development, the learning journey continues to inspire innovation and responsible entrepreneurship.
