IRM successfully conducted a capacity-building training for women entrepreneurs under the Enterprise Acceleration Programme (EAP), with the support of the British Asian Trust.

The training equipped participants with practical skills in business planning, marketing, financial literacy, digital tools, market linkages, leadership, and climate-resilient business practices, helping them strengthen their businesses and explore new opportunities for growth.

A key highlight was the Mini Market, where participants put their learning into action by showcasing their products, engaging with customers, and applying their marketing and selling skills in a real-market setting. The activity reflected their creativity, confidence, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Through EAP, IRM continues to create opportunities for women entrepreneurs to strengthen their businesses, expand their market potential, and advance their economic empowerment.

From Training to Real-World Growth

As part of our GIZ Mentorship Visit, we met with participants to learn more about their businesses, understand the challenges they are facing, and provide practical guidance based on their individual needs.

The visits also included going to the businesses of selected participants to see their work firsthand. We reviewed their progress, discussed how they were applying the skills gained through the project, and checked important aspects such as maintaining their business logbooks and records.

These mentorship visits are an important step in helping participants strengthen their businesses, stay on track, and turn the knowledge gained through the project into sustainable livelihoods.

Financial knowledge can change the way a woman plans, saves, invests, and builds her future. 🌱

Under 𝐈𝐑𝐌 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐏 participants took part in an engaging Financial Literacy Session conducted with the support of Khushhali Microfinance Bank, one of Pakistan’s leading microfinance institutions working to promote financial inclusion and access to financial services for underserved communities.

The session introduced participants to practical financial concepts including smart saving, budgeting, financial planning, fraud prevention, currency identification, responsible use of banking services, and available loan and financing options for women entrepreneurs.

Representatives from Khushhali Microfinance Bank also guided participants on how women can access formal financial services, understand financing requirements, use banking facilities responsibly, and explore suitable financial products to support small businesses and income-generating activities.

More than just a training session, it was an opportunity for women to ask questions, understand the banking system, and build confidence to make informed financial decisions.

When women understand how to manage, save, and access finance, they gain greater control over their economic future. ✨

PTCL Partners with IRM for Ba-Ikhtiar Digital Literacy Trainings Across 22 Districts

IRM has been onboarded by Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) to deliver the Digital Literacy component of the Ba-Ikhtiar Program, being implemented in collaboration with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) across 22 districts of Pakistan.

Under this partnership, IRM will equip 2,100 women with practical digital skills, including smartphone usage, digital literacy, online communication, internet safety, and access to essential digital services. PTCL will also provide smartphones to participants, enabling them to continue learning and use their newly acquired skills in everyday life.

The collaboration brings together PTCL, PPAF and IRM to advance digital inclusion and create greater opportunities for women to participate confidently in the digital economy and pursue sustainable livelihoods.

Our interns had the opportunity to learn from Ms. Irnum Malik, Senior MEAL Specialist at BRAC, who shared insights from over 20 years of experience in international development.

The session focused on applied research and what it looks like in practice. From designing surveys and collecting reliable data to ensuring that research findings can support better decisions.

For many of our interns, it was also an opportunity to revisit concepts they had first encountered at university and see how those same principles are applied in professional settings. The discussion offered a practical perspective on research methodology and reinforced the value of asking the right questions before looking for the right answers.

We thank Ms. Irnum Malik for sharing her time, knowledge, and experience. Sessions like these help bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice.

As part of SIP2026, our interns had the opportunity to engage with Mr. , Programme Analyst at UNDP Pakistan, whose work includes leading the Balochistan Groundwater & Trickle Irrigation Project.

The session explored the skills young professionals need in today's job market, the importance of intentional career development, and the realities of working in the development sector. Drawing on his experience in Balochistan, Mr. Hidayat shared insights into addressing interconnected challenges such as water security, governance, infrastructure, and access to services through evidence-based programmes.

The conversation encouraged our interns to think beyond career goals and reflect on the impact they want their work to create.
