es and lives. The Society is Internationally affiliated to WAFA the World Association of Floral Artists, our members participate in International shows regularly winning laurels for the country thereby promoting a softer image of Pakistan. The History of WAFA
The World Association of Flower Arrangers (WAFA) was founded in 1981 by a group of flower arranging societies representing 19 countries. Today the membership has grown to 31 countries. WAFA aims to reinforce the bonds of friendship between the various members and provide a forum whereby members can exchange ideas and trends in flower arranging. The care and conservation of natural resources and the environment are also important considerations. The association is voluntary and not- for-profit and is governed by a properly drafted constitution which is reviewed on an ongoing basis. WAFA is hosted on a three yearly term by an elected member country. During its tenure, the host country is responsible for organising and hosting an International Seminar and a World Flower Show. A General Assembly is also convened during the World Flower Show to conduct the business of the association. Previous host countries include 1984-United Kingdom ,1987-Belgium, 1990-France, 1993-Canada, 1996-New Zealand, 1999-South Africa,2002- United Kingdom, 2005- Japan, 2008-Pakistan, 2011 United States of America, 2014- Ireland, 2017-Barbados, 2020 India have attracted audiences in the thousands. Australia is the current host country in March 2027
The Floral Art Society of Pakistan has chapters in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar. We regularly organise National Shows bringing all the chapters together to compete and share their skills, holding demonstrations and workshops. As part of our policy we support a charity at our show collecting funds to help various organisations in the field of medicine & education, like the Kidney Centre, Fatamid, Behbud, Cancer hospitals like Shaukat Khanam, Blind foundation, Sahara Trust, Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer;Flood Victims in Sialkot, Earthquake Effectees, Rozan etc….
