Pakistan Red Crescent was founded on December 20, 1947 by the order ‘The Pakistan Red Cross Order’ courtesy Quaid-e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Governor General of Pakistan and Founder President of the Society. PRC endeavours to strengthen the humanitarian and social values by promoting the ideals of tolerance, non-violence, sympathy, love and respect for others in the society.The Society in its working draws inspiration from the seven fundamental principles of the 'Movement', namely: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality.The main activities of the Society are relief work during and after disasters, both natural and man made, and primary health and welfare services for the most vulnerable

Y&V Department, PRCS KP, organized a 3-day Y-Adapt training for volunteers in District Buner under the Emergency Appeal, supported by IFRC.

A total of 22 volunteers participated in the training, engaging in interactive sessions and practical activities focused on climate change, risk reduction, and adaptation.

The training aimed to strengthen volunteers’ knowledge and skills to identify climate-related risks and promote climate adaptation and resilience in their communities.

Distribution of Seeds & Fertilizers – Neelum Valley
Supporting Farmers, Strengthening Livelihoods

Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) AJ&K distributed seeds and fertilizers among farmers in District Neelum Valley, AJK, with the support of the Turkish Red Crescent Society (TRC). The assistance aims to support vulnerable farming households, strengthen agricultural livelihoods, and contribute to improved food security at the community level.

PRCS volunteers played a vital role in the activity, supporting community mobilization, beneficiary facilitation, distribution arrangements, coordination, and crowd management. Their dedicated voluntary service reflects the humanitarian spirit and the Fundamental Principle of Voluntary Service.

PRCS Review & Revision Workshop on Reporting Systems, Tools & PMER Framework

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) is conducting a three-day Review and Revision Workshop on PRCS Reporting Systems, Tools and the PMER Framework, from 7–9 October 2026.

Led and organised by the PRCS PMER Team, the consultative workshop brings together members of the PMER Technical Committees, PRCS Programmes, all PRCS branches, and representatives from Movement Partners to collectively review, strengthen and streamline the organisation’s reporting mechanisms.

The workshop was inaugurated by the Chairperson, PRCS, who highlighted the critical role of effective reporting in strengthening transparency, accountability and organisational performance. She emphasised the need for reporting tools and templates to be smart, concise and user-friendly, helping reduce the reporting burden while improving efficiency, quality and informed decision-making.

The workshop provides an important platform for consultation, learning and collaboration, with a shared focus on developing simpler, smarter and more effective reporting systems that support PRCS programmes and operations.

PRCS Gilgit-Baltistan Branch Leadership meets PRCS Chairperson

Mr Imran Nadeem, Chairman of the PRCS Gilgit-Baltistan Branch and Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly, along with Provincial Secretary PRCS GB Branch Mr Imran Rana, called on Ms Farzhana Naek, Chairperson of PRCS National Headquarters, in Islamabad.

The meeting focused on strengthening coordination between the PRCS NHQ and the Gilgit-Baltistan Branch, enhancing humanitarian service delivery, and further strengthening the branch’s capacity for disaster preparedness and response. Mr Imran Nadeem expressed his appreciation for the support extended by PRCS NHQ during the recent floods in Gilgit-Baltistan, particularly in the two most affected districts. He acknowledged the timely relief assistance provided to affected communities.

Ms Farzhana Naek reaffirmed PRCS National Headquarters’ continued commitment to supporting the Gilgit-Baltistan Chapter and serving vulnerable communities across the region. Both sides agreed to further strengthen collaboration and coordination to enhance humanitarian services, preparedness, and response for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Strengthening Preparedness. Building Faster Humanitarian Response.

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), organised a three-day Kick-Start Workshop on Disaster Humanitarian Response (DHR), bringing together PRCS Program Managers, representatives from IFRC, ICRC and from provincial branches including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Merged Areas, Gilgit-Baltistan and State Branch of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Discussions focused on activity planning, strengthening preparedness and response capacities, enhancing coordination, and reinforcing rapid response mechanisms to enable timely and effective humanitarian action during emergencies.

Secretary General PRCS Muhammad Abaidullah Khan emphasised the importance of strengthening institutional preparedness, coordination and rapid response capacities to ensure that PRCS is better equipped to respond swiftly and effectively to communities affected by disasters and emergencies.

Mr. Manzoor Ali, IFRC Program Coordinator, highlighted the importance of coordinated planning and stronger preparedness at all levels to enhance the collective capacity of PRCS to anticipate, respond to and manage humanitarian emergencies effectively.
