شہید بھٹو فاؤنڈیشن کے زیرِ اہتمام اسلام آباد میں "کیا پاکستان کو مزید صوبوں کی ضرورت ہے؟" کے عنوان سے ایک اہم مباحثے کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔
تقریب سے اظہارِ خیال کرتے ہوئے سید سبط الحیدر بخاری، انچارج سینٹرل سیکریٹریٹ پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی نے کہا کہ پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی عوام کو بااختیار بنانے، صوبائی خودمختاری اور اختیارات کی نچلی سطح تک منتقلی پر یقین رکھتی ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ نئے صوبوں کے قیام کے حوالے سے غیر منتخب افراد اپنی رائے اور مشورے ضرور دے سکتے ہیں، تاہم اس اہم قومی معاملے کا فیصلہ منتخب نمائندوں اور پارلیمنٹ کے ذریعے ہونا چاہیے۔ نئے صوبوں کے قیام سمیت انتظامی معاملات پر بحث پارلیمنٹ میں ہونی چاہیے، جہاں تمام سیاسی جماعتیں اور عوامی نمائندے قومی مفاد میں متفقہ لائحہ عمل اختیار کریں۔
سید سبط الحیدر بخاری نے مزید کہا کہ پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی جمہوری اور آئینی طریقہ کار پر یقین رکھتی ہے اور ایسے تمام فیصلے عوامی خواہشات اور وسیع تر قومی اتفاقِ رائے کے مطابق ہونے چاہئیں۔
پیپلز پارٹی وفاق کی علامت ہے۔ شہید ذوالفقار علی بھٹو اور شہید محترمہ بینظیر بھٹو نے ہمیشہ چاروں صوبوں کو ایک لڑی میں پرویاہے۔

مزید کہا کہ آئین پاکستان ہمیں وفاق کی مضبوطی کا درس دیتا ہے۔صوبوں کو لڑوا کر سیاست کرنے والے ملک کے خیر خواہ نہیں ہو سکتے۔ صدر آصف علی زرداری اور چیئرمین بلاول بھٹو زرداری کی پالیسی واضح ہے، پاکستان سب کا ہے اور سب پاکستان کے ہیں، پیپلز پارٹی کسی بھی ایسی بات کی مذمت کرتی ہے جس سے صوبائی ہم آہنگی کو نقصان پہنچے، ہم ملک کو متحد رکھنے کے لیے ہر قربانی دینے کو تیار ہیں، پیپلز پارٹی وفاق کی علامت ہے۔ صدر زرداری اور چیئرمین بلاول کا پیغام ہے پاکستان سب کا ہے۔
ہم صوبائی ہم آہنگی پر کوئی سمجھوتہ نہیں کریں گے،صوبوں کو لڑانے والے ملک دشمن ہیں،پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی کی قیادت نے ہمیشہ ملک کو جوڑا ہے۔
