In Loving Memory of Madam Balqees Akhtar.

Through our Food Support Program, ration and essential food items are distributed to hundreds of families every month.

The compassion of Madam Balqees Akhtar continues to guide our work. Her legacy lives on in every family we support, and every smile her efforts bring to someone facing hardship.

May Allah (SWT) grant her a high place in Jannat‑ul‑Firdous and bless her soul with eternal peace. Ameen.

We remain committed to carrying forward her mission of care, dignity, and hope.

Ramadan Food Distribution – Program Update

As part of our annual Ramadan Food Distribution Program, Balqees Welfare Foundation carried out multiple food distribution activities in Rawalpindi. One distribution was held at our partner’s office, Hasna Welfare Foundation, which provides vocational and skills development training.

The program has been successfully completed across Rawalpindi, Mandra, and Rawalakot (AJK), with 2,000 Ramadan food packages distributed to deserving families, helping them observe Ramadan Kareem with dignity.

This effort has been made possible by the blessings of Allah (SWT), the generous support of our donor KapraCoast (www.kapracoast.com), our institutional partners, the dedication of the BWF team, and the prayers of the families we serve.

A day of connection, reflection, and commitment in Mandra.

The visit brought together Balqees Welfare Foundation, BWF Trust Complex, and KapraCoast teams, joined by the CEO of BWF and the Chairman of KapraCoast. It was a moment to step away from routine, connect as one collective, and reaffirm a shared purpose.

The day was made even more special with a thoughtfully arranged lunch by Mr. Zafar Mehmood, Director, Balqees Welfare Foundation, followed by informal activities where staff came together over badminton and cricket, sharing laughter and camaraderie.

Later, Parvez Akhtar sb, along with other dignitaries, led a walk-through of a 40+ kanal site, shared as waqf for the future Balqees Welfare Foundation General Hospital, Mandra. This planned hospital will, in time, provide healthcare services to neighboring communities - from Mandra and Rawalpindi to Gujar Khan.

As the new year begins, the gathering stood as more than a visit or a celebration. It reflected a renewed commitment to communities, through ongoing education initiatives and the promise of accessible healthcare for the region.

BWF Stories: Mohammad Ali’s Journey

Ali has been part of Balqees Welfare Foundation’s community for 10 years. For him, every visit to the foundation is more than just collecting food or support - it’s a lifeline.

In Pakistan, millions live with physical disabilities, and daily life is often a struggle. Even educated, able-bodied people face hurdles in healthcare, education, and livelihood. For someone like Ali, whose mobility depends on a wheelchair, the challenges are multiplied.

Yet, change is possible. With the foundation’s support:

He receives monthly ration, ensuring his basic needs are met.

When his wheelchair breaks, a replacement is provided, restoring his independence.

Over the years, he has completed his education up to FA, proving that disability does not define potential.

He also receives a monthly hardship grant of Rs. 5,000.

He is not alone. Every month, the foundation reaches countless others facing similar challenges - helping them access food, education, mobility aids, and financial support. Together, these small acts are transforming lives.

BWF Stories: Fozia’s Journey

Fozia is a 42-year-old woman, though her appearance tells a different story. When she was just five years old, she fell down the stairs while sleepwalking. The accident caused severe head and spinal injuries, halting her physical and mental growth, crippling her lower body, and affecting her arms. Today, Fozia relies on a wheelchair for life.

Earlier today, she visited Balqees Welfare Foundation with her brother to collect her monthly ration and support for disability needs. As she spoke about that childhood accident, her voice still carries the innocence and cuteness of a five-year-old.

She shared how her parents took her to a doctor, who initially said she would be fine. Yet, over time, her growth stopped, leaving her with permanent disabilities.

Fozia is the eldest of three sisters and a brother, carrying the weight of responsibility and care despite her limitations. Seeing her recount this story; the resilience in her expression, the warmth in her voice - reminds us how lifelong support and compassion can make a difference for those living with disabilities.
