🚨 Strong Condemnation of the Acid Attack on a Female Doctor in Quetta

We strongly condemn the horrific acid attack on a female doctor while she was performing her professional duties in Quetta. Such a brutal act is not only an attack on an individual healthcare worker but also an attack on humanity, medical ethics, and the healthcare system itself.

We demand that the Government of Pakistan:
✅ Ensure immediate arrest and strict legal punishment for those responsible.
✅ Introduce and enforce comprehensive legislation for the protection, dignity, and security of healthcare professionals.
✅ Provide special security measures for doctors, especially female healthcare workers serving the public.

We appeal to all medical associations, civil society organizations, human rights groups, and humanitarian institutions to stand united in support of the affected doctor and advocate for stronger protection of healthcare professionals.

Doctors dedicate their lives to saving others. Their safety, dignity, and respect must be protected at all costs.

Today, a productive and detailed meeting was held between Dr. Asif, CEO of Busri International Hospital & Cancer Research Center, a project of Busri Welfare International Trust, and the Executive Director of National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, Dr. Fatima Mishal.

Dr. Asif also extended his warm congratulations to Dr. Fatima Mishal on her appointment as Executive Director, appreciating her leadership and commitment to rehabilitation medicine and public health services.

The meeting included a comprehensive discussion on upcoming collaborative activities between NIRM, a leading government institution in rehabilitation medicine, and Busri International. The focus was on strengthening rehabilitation services, disability prevention strategies, and expanding outreach programs for underserved populations.

Busri International Hospital, through its Special Wing — the Busri International Rehabilitation Center — along with its rehabilitation specialists and allied health science experts, will work closely with NIRM to implement future joint initiatives.

Key areas of discussion included:

• Disability Prevention & Early Intervention Initiatives
• Orthopedic and Congenital Disease Rehabilitation Camps
